I have booked the Café for the entire weekend with Party Planner Tux. Hope that all your furries received invites (girl AND boy kitties!) If not they are most welcome to come as they are! On the list are oodles of activities: bird-watching, mouse-hunting, story time courtesy the basement kittehs … and lots of noms!

Gifts not required, although Dorry disagrees LOL. For us it’s free bevvies at the fountain (like always, but whatever!) And for anyone who doesn’t have a kitty, there should be enough purries to go ’round for cuddling, so do join us! Pups welcome too, Buttons!
Plus in honour of March 8th as International Women’s Day, a day of pampurring for the girl kitties.

Happy Birthday darling boy – each and every day you bring purry life into my life! XXOO, KJ

So the short version of Dorry coming into this world, so far as I know. He was one of a litter of several kitties being fostered along with their beautiful Mom as Venus. Flash forward 3 mos later and this awesome shelter as Cause4Paws brought 10 kitties to my place in the hope that one would find a furever home. I was first intrigued by the boy’s fur-bro as Tai (Dorry’s foster name was Chi, I know.) The place was kits climbing the walls, in Tai’s case literally. Among the mayhem Dorry curled up for a catnap on my sofa. And that settled it – he had chosen his furever home.
PS His fur family all found furever homes.

And someone pleeeze keep an eye on the boy as Caturday – I don’t want him to mar the family escutcheon with his frisky ways – b-day or not!

HRH Shadz is trying out her selection of warm scarves so that she will be warm when she gets to Dorry’s party. I did explain that it was indoors and she won’t need it but I guess a girl likes to dress to impress.
KJ will the be any yarn ball chasing? HRH has heard you have lots of yarn balls. 😉
She will be coming early as the weekend has already begun here.

Just taking a quick peak before I dash out and leave things in Tux’s capable paws. You guys are the very best of the best – I’m totally wowed – as is Dorry! Will catch up with you as tomorrow night!

My crew is coming too KJ! My kits have been instructed (the girls, that is) to not take him seriously as I don’t want their hearts to get broken…and I don’t want Willow to feel he has to be big brother. They wanted to bring Cheezburgers for Dorry and who ever may want them, and some home grown ‘nip’ from the farm. See you Caturday night, KJ!

MS, Leela packed her pink yarn ball. It’s all the yarn she has, but she says it’s super fun to play with and chase!

G’morning everyone, here at this place once again…worked last night but it was overtime so that worked…

    When we change our clocks
Most of the United States begins Daylight Saving Time at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and reverts to standard time on the first Sunday in November. In the U.S., each time zone switches at a different time.
In the European Union, Summer Time begins and ends at 1:00 a.m. Universal Time (Greenwich Mean Time). It begins the last Sunday in March and ends the last Sunday in October. In the EU, all time zones change at the same moment.

    Spring forward, Fall back
During DST, clocks are turned forward an hour, effectively moving an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening.

    Spelling and grammar
The official spelling is Daylight Saving Time, not Daylight SavingS Time.
Saving is used here as a verbal adjective (a participle). It modifies time and tells us more about its nature; namely, that it is characterized by the activity of saving daylight. It is a saving daylight kind of time. Because of this, it would be more accurate to refer to DST as daylight-saving time. Similar examples would be a mind-expanding book or a man-eating tiger. Saving is used in the same way as saving a ball game, rather than as a savings account.
Nevertheless, many people feel the word savings (with an ‘s’) flows more mellifluously off the tongue. Daylight Savings Time is also in common usage, and can be found in dictionaries.
Adding to the confusion is that the phrase Daylight Saving Time is inaccurate, since no daylight is actually saved. Daylight Shifting Time would be better, and Daylight Time Shifting more accurate, but neither is politically desirable.
    When in the morning?
In the U.S., clocks change at 2:00 a.m. local time. In spring, clocks spring forward from 1:59 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.; in fall, clocks fall back from 1:59 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. In the EU, clocks change at 1:00 a.m. Universal Time. In spring, clocks spring forward from 12:59 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.; in fall, clocks fall back from 1:59 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
In the United States, Daylight Saving Time commences at 2:00 a.m. to minimize disruption. However, many states restrict bars from serving alcohol between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. At 2:00 a.m. in the fall, however, the time switches back one hour. So, can bars serve alcohol for that additional hour? Some states claim that bars actually stop serving liquor at 1:59 a.m., so they have already stopped serving when the time reverts to Standard Time. Other states solve the problem by saying that liquor can be served until “two hours after midnight.” In practice, however, many establishments stay open an extra hour in the fall.
In the U.S., 2:00 a.m. was originally chosen as the changeover time because it was practical and minimized disruption. Most people were at home and this was the time when the fewest trains were running. It is late enough to minimally affect bars and restaurants, and it prevents the day from switching to yesterday, which would be confusing. It is early enough that the entire continental U.S. switches by daybreak, and the changeover occurs before most early shift workers and early churchgoers are affected.
    Some U.S. areas
For the U.S. and its territories, Daylight Saving Time is NOT observed in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, and Arizona. The Navajo Nation participates in the Daylight Saving Time policy, even in Arizona, due to its large size and location in three states.
    A safety reminder
Many fire departments encourage people to change the batteries in their smoke detectors when they change their clocks because Daylight Saving Time provides a convenient reminder. “A working smoke detector more than doubles a person’s chances of surviving a home fire,” says William McNabb of the Troy Fire Department in Michigan. More than 90 percent of homes in the United States have smoke detectors, but one-third are estimated to have dead or missing batteries.

This link is a list of daylight saving time for the world…

My crew is headed to Dorry’s party now…such excitement. They heard the KJ house likes jewelry and knitting so they’ve chosen gifts that they hope Dorry will like…a few of Emily’s favorite plastic spider rings and Leo’s rubber bracelets (think Livestrong)…perfect playthings in their opinion and might keep him away from mommy’s jewelry. Eko loves little balls for soccer playing so he has fashioned some out of yarn for Dorry….tight balls so nobody ends up playing with loose string…safety first!

The humans here are picking up doughnuts and heading to my aunt and uncle’s house for breakfast…yum!

Happy birthday, Dorry! Kick back, relax and enjoy as you take a break from being the man of the house…I know the responsibility must weigh heavily. :).

Abby has been waiting on Jojo/Sal all morning, who finally showed up … Sal is intrigued by the notion of ‘nip’ being a rough outdoor guy, he’s never experienced it … Abby has packed loads of salmon cookies and a present of a feathery toy shaped like a Florida flamingo for the birthday boy …. *shwoosh* and they’re on their way thru the wormhole!

Mine have packed their home grown nip, and packed their cheezburgers, also Willow is bringing his favorite toy–his ‘noodle’ which is a broken bright orange hair tie and his foam ear plug. He knows how to retrieve and wants to teach all the boys what he knows! They are all so very excited about birfday noms….*swooooosh* and thru the wormhole they come!!!!!!

Good Morning! Yesterday, Comet and Mac were given instructions to catch a mouse. Heard sounds last night, but it may have been the mousie toy that sounds quite lifelike. Comet was really hoping to catch it to bring. He figured huntress Shadz would be impressed by the work of an indoor kitty.
Since cheeseburgers seem to be a theme here, I was tasked with procuring them. Since New Jersey is known for White Castle, the trio has a bunch of White Castle cheeseburger sliders (mini-burgers). Leela has a pretty wildflower bouquet for KJ.
