I lurk constantly at TDK, but am so busy at work and also at home that I just don’t have the time to join in all the chatter. Forums are waaaay more my speed. (Thanks KM, you da bomb, baby) I’m thinking that many more lurkers wills delurk and join the forum now that it is operational. At least I hope so. I feel like I know many of you very well already after having read so many of your posts on TDK, and now *I* get to join in the fun sometimes! w00t!

Now, off to make a suggestion in the Cafe that I’m sure many of you will love. 🙂

Hi, Neenie. I’m glad you’ve de-lurked! Tell us about your cats/kittens if you have any. Do they have pages on Catster.com? It sounds like you are pretty knowledgable about chat rooms/forums. I hope you can help those of us who aren’t figure out how to manuever around here efficiently!

Am catless due to apartment rules, so must get my fix by checking TDK every day. And, yes, I’m a geek and have 24/7 access to dozens of other geeks even more fluent in computer-ese than I. 😀

Thanks for the welcome, and beware TDK-ers. My title on the other forum was given to me for good reason. I’m known there as The Spelling Nazi!

    😉

Well, one of the great things about the TDK chat forum is the ability to edit our comments for spelling. Yea!!!!!!!!!!

    #56212

You may be the spelling Nazi, but I’m the grammar freak. I’ll hound a split infinitive out of the forum!

Welcome Neenie – glad you like our new shiny 2007 model, conceived and created by the “King of Kittens. Happy you decided to join in the fun, and I hope you are correct about other lurkers joining in too.

Today’s tip (added to this thread, so as not to clutter up the boards too much) is about smilies.

The emoticons do use up some resources, so until KM decides this site can handle the traffic and the extras, we could do what computer users did for years before emoties were invented.

The most common emoties you can use with the (mostly) punctuation keys are:

    smile 🙂

    wide mouthed grin 😀

    raspberry 😛

    frowny face >-( or 🙁

You can always insert a dash in between the “eyes” and “mouth” as a nose as I did in the first frowny face.

I know a lot of you probably already knew all this, but for those who didn’t, start emoting again!! 😀

….and Pipa’s Mum….I’ll cut you some slack in appreciation of the coffee this morning!
