My two kittens (peanut & gumball) are just about 6 weeks old and they’re doing great in all categories except for using the litter! I’m not sure where I went wrong, maybe I started introducing them too late? One of them will use the litter occasionally and I believe he’s making SOME progress but the other goes wherever he wants whenever he wants! I’ve tried removing all the furniture and cleaning out the room with bleach to remove the smell of urine so they don’t associate anything but the litter with the bathroom but it didn’t seem to work, is there any tricks or techniques I should try? I’m currently using yesterday’s news litter! Any advice would be MUCH appreciated!

Using UNSCENTED CLAY NON CLUMPING LITTER to start kittens off with because they do not long strong scents (it may not be strong to you but cats/kittens have a more sensitive nose) and they tend to eat clumping litter and it can cause blockages in the intestines. Put their pee and poops in the litter box and put them in there, they will figure it out.

Kittyzee makes some important points!! My kitten started using the litter box around 6 weeks. I would just watch her diligently for about 30 mins after meals and when she looked like she was about to pop a squat I’d pick her up and put her in the litter. Sometimes she’d start a little on the floor but I’d move her to the litter pretty quick. After she peed I would move her paws in a scratching motion in the litter. After about 4 times, she got the idea and started doing it herself.
