I think they should make a television series based on the The Cat who series. Tom Selleck could play James Qwilleran. It would be better than most of the junk that is already on TV.

There used to be a “Cat Who” website on which the possibility of making movies from the books was discussed. Several actors were proposed to play Qwilleran, and Eric Braeden was the one who received the most votes. By now, though, Tom Selleck is just about the right age to play Qwill.

I would love to see “The Cat Who” on screen, too, large or small.

I agree – I like those books too. It is interesting to see a book you’ve read go to screen and compare the story that your mind developed with Hollywood’s version.

They would make an excellent t.v. series. I haven’t had time to read one in a couple years but I really enjoy the stories. The last one I read was The Cat Who Could Read Backwards. I wish someone would take your idea and run with it!

Interesting thing: In the books, Qwilleran’s mustache got mentioned a lot. Last week’s TV Guide had an article discussing Tom Selleck’s mustache.

Just noticed this thread…I’m a big Cat Who..fan. I think Tom Selleck would be a good match for Quill. Don’t have any ideas for Polly yet. And like Marnet, I would love to see the apple barn home!

The book that stands out for me is “The Cat Who Lived High” when Quill stayed in the high rise apt with the busted elevator. I don’t remember a lot about Polly; it’s been a while since I’ve read the books, but Diane Lane is pretty versatile.
