    Hi everyone!
This is my 1st time here. (You guys are great!)
My 6 y.o. spayed female Jesse was totally an indoor cat. Scared of everything, esp. the outdoors. Somehow, when my DD was moving out, Jesse got out on 9/13. We searched and searched, put up posters, called shelters, went door-to-door. I was sure she was gone. Then Sunday, she just showed up in the back yard! Emaciated and dirty, but otherwise, fine. She’s going to the vet this week, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for fattening her up? She is just skin and bones (4 lbs. She was over 8 lbs before she went away!)
    Thank you so much!

Hi Trish – welcome to TDK, the fluffiest site on the internet! First of all, thank goodness Jesse came back, smart kitty. Secondly, smart move getting her to the vet asap. You can get this stuff called Nutrical, which has the consistency of molasses, but is very high in calories. See if she will lick a bit from your finger.
    So glad Jesse is home!

Hi Trish! Joan gave good advice. If she will drink goat’s milk (it’s lactose free and won’t cause stomach upset or diarrhea) I would give her some. Look for it in the cold milk section of the grocery or baking aisle in cans as condensed (add water 1 to 1). It’s so good for cats and for their immune systems. Just feed her well and keep her from getting out again, LOL! So glad she is back home and safe, poor baby. Good on you for getting her to the vet too! Keep us posted on her progress!
