Well, a lot has been going on around here since Sophie had her babies. Sophie had 5 kittens on Sept. 9th so they are 18 days old now and very healthy! They are the sweetest little things. There are 3 boys, Clark, Kent and Lex, and 2 girls, Lana and Lois.
Purrseus, Remmy and Lilly (my last bottle babies) all have gotten adopted and I couldn’t be happier.
After Purrseus, Remmy and Lilly left I got another litter of 5, they are 4 weeks and already weaned. 3 of them have crooked tails and I am guessing it is a genetic thing. There are 3 boys, Bolt (his tail looks like a lightning bolt), Peeta and Gale, and 2 girls, Effie and Prim. 3 are all black, and 2 are mostly black with some white.
Two days ago the Humane Society got a litter of 6 three week old kittens and I offered to take two. I got two girls who I named Mya and Precious. They are both calico. They are half way weaned, able to eat from a bowl, but still need a bottle a couple times a day. They don’t know how to use the litter box yet, so we are working on that. Mya is more outgoing than Precious, always wanting to play with the older kittens and running around the house even though her legs are still very shaky. Precious is more of a cuddle bug, sleeping for most of the day and wanting to be held.
It has been pretty hectic lately with 12 kittens, but it has been fun. Sophie takes care of her 5 babies very well, she is a wonderful mother even though she is still a baby herself (not even a year old yet).
