Hi there – first time posting! I have two 10-week old Persian kitten sisters. We have had Jaina, who is slightly bigger, for 3 weeks, and we just recently picked up Quinn, who is slightly smaller. They are individually very sweet and playful, but seem to hate each other when together. Jaina always wants to play, but Quinn is a little more standoffish and gets mad when Jaina is constantly bothering her. I don’t think Jaina is doing it aggressively, as her ears are not flat, she isn’t hissing and she seems genuinely curious and playful. However, even when Quinn is hissing and growling loudly clearly wanting some space, Jaina does not back off and keeps running and jumping at her. I don’t know what to do! If I make a loud sound or try to distract them with a toy, it only works for a few seconds before Jaina turns her attention back on Quinn and they’re soon fighting. I know it will take some time for Quinn to adjust to us and living in a new home, while Jaina has had a 3 week head-start, but I don’t know how to control Jaina and teach her to back off, especially because Quinn is smaller and her hissing and growling seems to do nothing to deter Jaina. I have tried feeding them with a barrier in between and getting them used to each others smells, but the second Jaina can, she still makes a beeline for Quinn and does not back down one bit. Any advice is appreciated!
