My family and I had saw a kitten in a box about a week ago in our apartment complex. Everything was going fine, the first day he was here he slept a lot and didn’t eat anything, but after that he eats a lot. Today when I fed him (kitten formula in a bottle) he ate normal pace for him, but I think he ate quite a bit, he ate about 4 TBS of formula by 11 AM. After that I set him down in his little bed in our laundry basket and around 30 min to an hour I see he is trying to crawl out and there is vomit on the blanket. Not a ton, but it felt and looked like egg whites, maybe because of the formula. After this he seemed really tired, but I thought it was normal. It has been maybe 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours after this and if he wakes up a little he will immediately fall asleep without me even petting him or him getting a bottle. He also walked a little for the minute he was up and it seemed very weak. I don’t know if that is the right word, but he seems extremely tired. I don’t have a car and I don’t have anyone to take me to a vet. Is this a normal reaction from a kitten who ate too much? He is 3 weeks or around that age and he usually sleeps a lot anyway, but he just seems extra tired. Thanks to anyone who replies!!!!

No, it’s not normal. It sounds like he is lethargic. He needs to be kept very warm in his nest–like with a heating pad wrapped in a towel set on low and a place for him to crawl off if he gets too hot. When he vomited, did you notice if he could have aspirated some of it into his lungs? Is he having trouble breathing? You can rub some honey or karo syrup on his gums to bring his sugar level back up since he sounds like this is what’s happening. Then you can begin to feed him the formula again. Just do it in smaller amounts and when you are done, put him up on your shoulder and ‘burp’ him. This will help get any air out of him from sucking on the bottle. Then you can try and pee and poop him after that. I will post some links that may help you with your kitten that have helped many with very young kittens like yours.
