Sorry for long post.. i am really worried about my kitten about 10 week old and i dont have any relaible vet here, from where i am from.

Ok,so kitten is really playful after he has his sleep and eats decently as well.. even goes to his place where we give him food and asks for food in his way when he is hungry.

But he despite that he is continuously getting weaker and is losing his fur ( not in bunches ) but when i comb him he is lossing alot of hair..

He had upset stomach (full watery) for past 5 days. Now he is better, before that we were giving him milk (with little water) in it. After that we started him of with meow cat food ( small chicken biscuits) but he rejected it straight so we kept giving milk. He was getting weaker by time when we tried to change his diet.. after that we tried home boiled chicken and he used to eat just a little so we continued it with milk..

Last couple of days we been giving him blended boiled chicken and boiled rice (he has trouble eating when its not blended).

Ppl been saying that it is coz of adjusting to new food and change, but i am really worried coz he has changed extremely.

P.s: he had flies / tics which we were able to get rid of.
He also has cat tears ( i beleive thats what they call) redish in color.

Please help me out with any advice. Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

Hello Hamza, I am sorry that you don’t have access to a vet, because that is what your kitten needs. Also, a good wet cat food that has the vitamins and minerals that kittens and cats need to develop and grow strong immune systems. While chicken and rice is a good bland diet for a cat who isn’t feeling well for a short period of time, it is not good for the long term.

Also milk, (cow’s milk) contains a lot of lactose which in most cats, causes diarrhea. You can give goat’s milk instead, which is so much better for them since it contains less lactose and is full of probiotics that will help him fight off disease. You can find it in the grocery in the cold milk section, or in the baking aisle in cans, powdered or concentrated. Or if you know someone with a goat, that’s a good alternative and you can pasteurize it yourself by heating it for a few minutes. Just Google how to pasteurize goat’s milk.

I think he may have an Upper Respiratory Infection (URI) if I read your post correctly, about having tears in his eyes. This may require an antibiotic or eye medication, or both.

Thank you for rescuing this little kitten, you are doing the best you can and I admire you for it. Do the best that you can, and we are here to help whenever you need us. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hey, thanks for reply, i learned alot from it ๐Ÿ™‚

( well tbh i kinda made a reply post earlier but while reading it i kinda realized it was better of being not posted .. )

Anyways, i kinda found an excuse to travel outa town and also get the furball (well not furball anymore.. got him shaved ๐Ÿ™ ) get checked by a vet.

Apparently the cause is ringworms so i think i have that under control. ( well tbh i am still kinda concerned coz i dont trust the quality of vets here..)

I also worried coz since yesterday he is barly eating anything.. and he also rejected milk flat out (also tried goat milk)

Lastly i wanted to ask what should i give him. He is about 10 weeks now. I previously tried those small cat food biscuits but i realized they are too hard for him to eat even after crushing them. I also bought whiskas food for kitten ( kinda jellyish stuff) but it says 1 year+ so i didnt give him.

For now i am giving him grounded chicken meat boiled. We previously had lots of cats and well we kinda started them off on boiled chicken liver when mom cat stoped nursing them.. they all ended up growing healthy so thats also an option i am keeping an eye on but i kinda wanted to avoid it coz i believe it to be kinda heavy for kitten.

So, if there is any specific kinda food that any1 recomend i should be giving him.

You can give your kitten any kind of wet food, it does not have to be solely for kittens. I like the pate style with no chunks or shreds to start off with. You can put a little syrup or sugar water in his mouth or rub on his gums to bring his sugar level up–then see if he will eat. You can mix a little with the goat’s milk too. The goat’s milk we be good for him, you can even mix a little with the wet food. Go ahead and give him the Whiskas wet food.

A lot of young kittens don’t do well right off with crunchy cat biscuits, but you can wet them with some water to soften them, or with goat’s milk to soften them too. Just make sure what he doesn’t eat in a few hours, get rid of as it will grow bacteria and could make him sick. If he won’t eat on his own, then get a dropper and put milk in his mouth that way. He HAS to eat and get liquids into him or he will become dehydrated and you will have bigger problems on your hands.
