    Hey everyone!

So, Nika (5 months old) was spayed on Friday afternoon at the vets office. She was kept overnight with no food, just water, so she didn’t eat at all that day. Saturday morning they fed her (her regular food that I brought for her) and she ate really good they said. We got her home that afternoon where she ate even more. That night she didn’t feel like eating her 3rd meal but ate the 4th meal up pretty good.

Since then she’s been eating pretty normally. She’s been drinking and peeing. The only problem is she hasn’t pooped ONCE. It’s Monday. She was spayed Friday, so it’s been almost 3 days straight with no poo.

I know she was fasted on Friday but is this really normal?? It doesn’t seem good to me. The only relief I have is she’s been acting fairly normal and eating well. She’s a bit more cuddly than usual, but that’s probably because she’s just exhausted from all the drama on Friday and Saturday morning.

I called the vet and the receptionist/tech didn’t think that sounded normal, which now has me worried. She is trying to get a doctor to call me back as soon as they can. I’m prepared to leave work if I have to and bring her in to the vet.

Has anyone else had an experience like this? Mo’s neuter was so easy-peasy. No overnight stay or bathroom issues whatsoever. Like everything with this kitten, this is new for me.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It could be a response to the anesthesia but I would talk to the vet. or make an appointment.

I would be concerned too, and think you are doing the right thing by calling the vet. It may be because of the anesthetic, but still they can feel whether she is impacted. Or take an xray to see if she is. Let us know what they say, and I’ll keep thinking good thoughts and sending them your way!
