The 5am feeds are the worst- I’m not entirely sure what to do or if anything helps, but I’m hoping someone knows how to help me.
I had just made my 10 day old kitten a bottle, using a powder which you mix with boiling water. Stupidly I didn’t leave it for long enough to cool down, or check on my arm to make sure it wasn’t too hot and gave it to my kitten.
He got less than a ml of it before he reacted and I realised what I had done.
However I do think it burnt his mouth a little bit based on his behaviour afterwards, scratching around his mouth, sucking my finger which was cold. I was just wondering if anyone knows whether I can do anything to help him, or is it one of those things that time helps?
I feel awful about it! 🙁

    Hi Lorna,

Yes, early AM feedings are tough but there’s not much you can do now. Purrhaps you can put a bit of cool water on your finger for him to suckle on. On another note-TDKers swear by Goats’ milk. It’s better for kittens because it gives them nutrients and probiotics (not all are found in KMR). Kittens are lactose intolerant and Goats’ milk is low in lactose so it easy on their tummies.

It’s sounds like you’re on top of everything so let us know how you’re doing together.
