    Dear all,

I recently took our 13 weeks old kitten to the vets, she gave me Noroclav tabelts to be given in half doses twice a day.

He has been peeing outside of the litterbox, and squatting without urinating. His glands are not hard and everything was physically fine.

Will the course of Noroclav be okay to give to him even if he doesnt 100% have a UTI? is it harmful?

UTI’s in male cats can be quite dangerous as it could be Infact a urinary blockage.. I would dilute 5 mls of pasteurized Apple cider vinegar in equal parts water.. And syringe feed him that.. It will help make his urine more acidic and dissolve any small crystal build up in the urinary tract.. Also I you can get D-Mannose in you local health food shop I would crush and sprinkle about 500mg into his food this will also help clear his urinary trace of any build up..

If you have him on dry food STOP! Get him on wet food and add extra water to his food .. The best way to avoid UTI in cats is wet food and lots of water for hydration..

I would always take UTI in male cats very seriously ..

I would consult your vet if he is still not urinating in the next two hours after meds..

I didn’t know that about the cider vinegar and the D-mannose Buttons…I keep learning from you guys everyday!

Also Craig, a site with a lot of information is http://www.catinfo.org there is a section on cat UTI’s and how we feed our cats. Well worth the read.
