I’m so glad they’re healthy and licking the Goats milk.

Purrhaps if you rest them in the palm of hand when you pick them up, they’re be OK. It could be the lack of support is what upsets Blake and Maurice.

KZ is right. Stray or feral cats/kittens can be socialized. Many can not but that’s not your case. Give you boys a snuggle from me.

Concats on wee newbies – time and patience as the learning curve.
You will do this – they will turn into furry purry loving family members! 🙂

It sounds like they are coming along great!
I laughed at your description of them hiding. Our adult cat is a hider, and quite good at it. He tears a hole in the fabric on the underside of furniture (sofas, chairs, box springs) and crawls up inside the furniture. Our little guy likes to burrow. Under pillows, under bedding, behind couch cushions. We have to be careful when we sit down to make sure we know where he is so that we don’t accidentally sit on him.
    Enjoy your new furr-babies!

Lol yeah we had them on on the sofa with us watching TV last night and they were climbing on us and there was even some sitting on our laps. Then they started playing and wouldn’t come out when it was time to go to the tent so I had to leave them in living room overnight! So fast, so sneaky And sooo good at burrowing and hiding!

Oh gosh I am really glad to see that these babies are thriving in your care. The first post had me horrified! I really hope that you followed through with reporting this woman. She will probably continue to breed and abuse more kittens if there is no intervention!

You have been doing wonderful. Thank you for taking these babies in! You should share pictures 😀

I (Roya’s aunt) have reported the ‘breeder’ to the RSPCA using their online form. I gave full details of all that we had witnessed and am hoping that the case will be thoroughly investigated.
Meanwhile the 2 boys Roya bought are clearly doing really well in her care and I can’t wait to go and see them again, especially now it sounds like they might even let me give them a little cuddle 🙂

Thanks to everyone for their support. Just wish we could have taken all those cats and kittens away.

Things were fine and they spent the last three nights out of the tent toilet trained (I thought) then I left them in my room for a few hours and they pooed on my bed.

I really thought we’d gotten past this.

    Any advice?

Also poo was very runny with what may have been a tiny bit of blood so will need to keep an eye on that, but that doesn’t change the fact that they WERE litter trained and have now reverted. This is the first time I’ve left them out in my room unsupervised, the other two nights they were in the living room where there is not blankets or cushions for them to poo on.

It’s like they’ll use the littertray but only if there’s no available blankets.

I obviously can’t live like this, I had to throw the blanket away and am currently in a sleeping bag, I really need them to use that tray.

They are not happy about being back in the tent but there’s not much else I can do.

Roya, the only thing I can figure is that there was still a smell of poo on the blanket. Remember, they haven’t been with you all that long and they have to be REtrained in what the correct thing to do is–using the littertray. You didn’t change litters or move the tray by any chance? I know I said this before, but some cats actually most cats HATE strong scented litter and some like different textures: pellets, clay, chips, etc. My thinking is like you said before is to limit the possibilities of where they can go. I would hate to see them in a cage again, but when I first bring kittens into the house, I use a large dog crate with litterbox, bed, food and water inside–everything they need. They get used to the comings and goings of the family that way. I take them out to feed them, play, etc. and place them back inside but of course my kittens were newborns. I would leave the door to the crate open for them to come and go and then they would go back into the crate for food, bed and using the tray. A few weeks of that then the crate is ready to be removed from the house as they stay in it less and less.
If they haven’t been vet checked, I would do this as they most certainly have worms and could have other parasites hence the bloody poop.

The crate thing is exactly what I did with the tent, and the last two days I’ve left the door of the tent open for them to come and go as they please and it’s worked out well.

Nope, no change to brand of cat litter or placing of tray, they had knocked the box over when I came in but they have two trays and they have no problems normally with using the other one.

They went to vets on Monday who gave them a clean bill of health.

I just wanted to do a quick update for everyone who was so nice and supportive about Blake and Maurice.

On Thursday they got Diarrhea which I hoped would just clear up, but they started doing it everywhere and it was very bloody. I spoke to the vets who suggested feeding them nothing but plain chicken and it would clear up. It got worse. On Sunday Maurice didn’t come out from under the sofa at all the entire day, not even for chicken or water. He crawled out twice to do poos on the floor which were only blood. I phoned a local animal charity who gave me a number for a veterinary hospital.

I took both kittens in a taxi, taxi driver was so sweet he thought they were adorable, we were seen immediately and the vet took both kittens off individually to take stool samples.

They found worms and a serious infection in both kittens 🙁 the vet gave them an antibiotics shot each, and deworming paste and some antibiotics and worming paste to administrator myself at home…

3 days later and my kittens are transformed. I am writing this right now with both of them fast asleep together ON MY LAP!!!

They cry constantly for food, their coats are lustrous and beautiful, and today they started cuddling me and we’ve spent the last three or four hours cuddling on the sofa, I AM SO HAPPY!!!!

Roya, what wonderful news! I am so glad you took your kittens to another vet and they checked them for parasites! Worms can do a number on little kittens and it sounds like you got them what they needed just in the nick of time–poor little babies!
If you want to share pics you need to get them on a photo sharing site like photobucket, then you can upload them here. You can’t post pics from your computer on this site unfortunately.

    Hi Roya,

When I started reading your post, I panicked but it’s a happy ending, Whew. I’m not sure what photo app you are using or if the pics are on your phone/camera. I use (as do many TDKers) Photobucket.com which is free. Set up an account then upload your pics in your library. Open up the picture. To the right are links. Click on Direct and it will copy the picture. You can paste it to your Daily Kitten post.

I can’t wait to see pics of Blake and Maurice.
