Comet is so gawky – I pick him up and hug him (being way over the top, of course!) and he sticks all fours straight out, kind of like “Oh, Ma!”, purring all the while.

Leela usually whines a bit and sometimes tries to swat, but when I lop her over my shoulder she realizes she kind of likes it!

~The trade of such spices were the root of the world’s economy for centuries.

~Even today Ginger is one of the most important spices world wide.

    Can’t forget Today’s Funny One:

I’ve never understood why women love cats.

Cats are independent, they don’t listen, they don’t come in when you call, they like to stay out all night, and when they’re home they like to be left alone and sleep.

In other words, every quality that women hate in a man, they love in a cat.

    Plus it’s Daniel Boone Day!

TODAY IN TRIVIA: Let’s meet Mr. Daniel Boone

~ The frontiersman who settled Kentucky

~ He was an explorer and hunter whose exploits made him one of the most famous frontiersman in American history.

~He explored west into Kentucky in the 1760s and 1770s.

~In 1775 he established the frontier outpost of Boonesborough, one of the first white settlements in Kentucky.

~Boone was played by actor Fess Parker in the children’s TV series Daniel Boone from 1964-70; the show’s theme song described him as “the rippin’est, roarin’est, fightin’est man the frontier ever knew.”

~But unlike Parker, the real Boone did not wear a coonskin hat… The Cumberland National Forest in Kentucky was renamed in 1966 as the Daniel Boone National Forest.

~ And today is his day!
