Are you new to this forum? Listen up, this is for you! Have you been here long enough to know what I’m about to say? This pertains to you too – let’s join together for some holiday joy!
Each year, my hometown animal shelter has a holiday tree lighting – a poignant celebration honoring our animal companions. We illuminate the tree as a symbol of love and to remember the many special animals still waiting for homes to call their own.
Did you gain a new furry friend in 2014?* They can help brighten the tree with a shiny red bulb!
Did a furry friend go to the Meadow in 2014?* Let’s memorialize them with a bright white bulb – we will never forget them.
*Note: If you gained or lost a pet prior to 2014 and haven’t seen me in a while, please feel free to add their name(s).
Feel free to extend this to your family and friends – the more the brighter!
Animals in the news count too.
Please email me your name and your pet’s name(s) and I will be proud and honored to sponsor a bulb. Please don’t offer money – you can pay it forward instead. I do this out of pure love of TDK and our furry friends.
You can reach me at lv655b at yahoo dot com. The deadline for recognition in our handout is December 7th.
The tree will be lit on Sunday, December 14th. Unless it snows and I can’t get off the mountain, I plan to attend. Every animal’s name is read; it is a short but very moving event.
Afterward, I will do my best to get a good picture of the tree to send to everyone who responds, along with a copy of the list of pets’ names.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
