I had 4 cups of coffee today! Yummmm. It was Costa Rican, freshly ground with light cream. I have sent an order to Gevalia to get monthly shipments of coffee too. I hear Gevalia coffee is very good.

KraziK, I order from Gevalia too! I get their hazelnut coffee. 4 pkgs at a time. Their spice coffee at Christmas is very good and seasonal. They also have Vitners at Christmas time and I get 4 of them and give 2 as gifts to my coffee lover cousin. For grocery store coffee, I love Eight O’Clock. Black and HOT! Must be hot.

I don’t remember who started this thread (LOL) but thank you! I cannot believe I didn’t. I always make my chocolate frosting with cold black coffee instead of milk and my kids never knew that growing up, they just liked it.

Me, me, me, Krazikat! I am just finishing my 4th cup of incredibly good, Costa Rican (Tarrzu? Tarrazu)from Starbucks. I am addicted to it. I don’t even have the excuse that I have been shoveling snow (we don’t have any this deep in Dixie). I just love the stuff. I see I am not the only one who also drinks Eight O’Clock. When Starbucks is not on sale, I get their French Roast which I really, really like. (The Italian Roast, I didn’t care for.)

I have seen the ads for Gevalia. Are any of their unflavored coffees really good? Is the coffee expensive? I assume that it is since they give away (or used to) coffee makers for signing up.

Lily, I like the hazelnut flavor in Gevalia. I don’t remember how much it is as it comes to the door and is about $32 for 4. But I use less coffee per pot than store bought brands. Now that the stores do have pretty awesome brands I am tempted to get out of the Gevalia but then I never cancel in time …. LOL. Must be that I do like it.

For decaffinated coffee, I absolutely love New England Coffee, Hazelnut Creme.

I just bought Dunkin Donuts Cinnamon Spice and will try that next.

I am not a coffee drinker, although I love the smell of coffee. It’s so comforting and homey. I do like coffee-flavored drinks, such as cappachinos, lattes, etc. I enjoy looking at the fancy drinks at Starbucks, but I haven’t a clue what (or how) to order a coffee drink. I always end up getting a tea. Any ideas for me to try?

Worked very late last night, so I am brewing my pot of coffee right now. It will be more of the Costa Rican I bought last week. A very delicious coffee! LKofIA, you might be able to get an idea of what flavor you would like by seeing if there is a Starbucks website. I’ve never bothered to look. The flavored coffees are the Latte’s. You can order them with decaf espresso if caffeine is not your “cup of tea”. They are made with shots of espresso and hot milk and shots of flavored syrup. They are made with skim, 2% or whole milk. The sizes are Tall, Grande and Venti. Tall is the smallest size. You can also order your Latte extra hot if you like nice hot drinks as I do. A safe first Latte for you might be a Tall Vanilla Latte, Decaf with 2%, extra hot. Now get out there and start ordering those Lattes!!

Starbuck’s coffee is much too strong tasting for me. I prefer Dunkin Donuts or Chai Tea if I am out and buying coffee to drink right then. But, we love going out for breakfast cause that first sip of java is soooooo good at most any restaurant. And better at some too.

I guess you could order a Venti Latte with only 1 shot of espresso SOM!

Thanks for the advice, KK. I hate going into a coffee/tea shop and sounding dumb when I try to order something. There’s just so many choices of both coffees and teas.

I suspect this thread could easily become as famous as ‘I Like Cheese’. Hahahah! For years we drink our coffee with Coffeemate Creamer..Hazelnut Only..w/ a tad of sugar and when I recently discovered that cinnamon is so good for lowering bad cholesterol I’ve started shaking cinnamon on top as well. Mmmmmmmm….I NEED my coffee to start each day…without it I’m such a whiney, cry baby!!!! =O

On my second cup of Costa Rican. Good afternoon Coffee Cats! I went to the Starbucks website, http://www.starbucks.com and they do list their drinks under the nutrition category. You have to click a little to find them but they are there for anyone who wants to see what is in them. The Cinnamon Dolce Latte sounds terrific, I will have to give it a try but probably won’t have time until this weekend. Does anyone have Gloria Jeans at their local mall? I used to love their Lattes and Coffees more than Starbucks. The one that used to be at our mall has been gone 3 or 4 years now. A good book for both coffee and tea lovers is The book of Coffee & Tea by Joel, David and Karl Schapira. It has history, recipes, how to make coffee, lots of fun information. Nice to sit down and read on a snowy day with a big mug of hot java!
