I’m disappointed this year, the Easter eggs are already out in the shops and I can’t find the Cadbury’s tiny speckled eggs. I like then as I can have one or two of these tiny sweet delights and not put my blood sugar into orbit.

I did have one piece of mint Aero tonight, delicious subtle flavour.

Ms, if I had your address I would send you some. Daves dad loves mint Aeros, the orange ones are quite nice as well.

Steveo, if you are serious about feeding your dog chocolate and about your other thread about your cat’s weight, you need to learn how to take proper care of your animals. I suspect you may be making things up, but anything’s possible, I guess.

DM & MC, I have since found some speckled eggs, other brands but they will do for me. DM, that was a very lovely thought to send me some, you’re a sweetie.

A few years back I discovered Dime bars and loved them, then they disappeared for a while and I recently re-found them as Hershey’s Skor bars now they seem to have disappeared and I am finding them as Daim. What a funny world we live in.

Finally found the chocolate filled Cadbury eggs again…they have been MIA for several years. Usually it’s just the ones that have the filling that looks like an actual egg. Sadly they aren’t made in England anymore.

WHO KNEW??? My birthday is WHITE Chocolate Day! I LOVE White Chocolate (even though I know its not really chocolate!)

March 14: White Day in Japan, Korea & Taiwan

One month after giving chocolate to their men on Valentine’s Day, it’s time for the Chocolate Marshmallow ladies to get their quid pro quo. This holiday was created in 1965 by a clever marshmallow maker that sought to sell more product, promoting to men that they should pay back with marshmallows the women who gave them Valentine chocolate. The chocolate companies soon realized that they could capitalize on this marketing bonanza, and began promoting white chocolate. Now, Japanese men give marshmallows, white chocolate, milk and dark chocolate, as well as other edible and non-edible gifts (like lingerie for wives and sweethearts) to the women who thought of them on Valentine’s Day. Many men, however, don’t reciprocate and give only to their girlfriends. Originally called “Marshmallow Day,” the holiday was later named White Day after the color of marshmallows.

The Mayans aligned their ceremonial buildings carefully with the compass directions. At the famous pyramid at Chichén Itza in Yucatan, something special happens on the equinoxes. The pyramid was built so that as the Sun rises and sets, the stairway on the north side is lit up at a steep angle, making the rim of the stairs look like a snake that is sliding up and down the pyramid. Look at the left side of the pyramid in the picture.

Where is Bumblebee for this? I know she likes chocolate!

Here’s my easy Oreo Cookie Pie recipe:

    Crust

20-25 Oreos smashed pretty fine. You can use food proccessor or the “take out your frustrations” method…in a ziplock bag and pound away with a rolling pin 🙂 It’s ok if there are some bigger pieces included. Save small amount to sprinkle on top of pie.

    1/4 cup melted butter

Mix together and press into 8 in pie pan and refigerate.

    Filling

1 small pack INSTANT pudding (don’t use the cook kind!) I use chocolate naturally, but you can use whatever flavor you want.

    1 envelope Dream Whip

1 3/4 cups milk (I use 1%, but use what you want)

Pour milk into bowl and add powdered ingredients. Mix at low speed until just blended, then at med to high speed until soft peaks form.

Pour into crust, sprinkle with remaining crumbs and refrigerate at least an hour. Garnish with cool whip or whipped cream or just dive in.

It’s acutally better the next day if it holds out that long!

    A childhood favorite of mine…..

    NO BAKE OATMEAL CHOCOLATE COOKIES

    Ingredients

1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine

    2 cups sugar

    1/2 cup milk

    4 tablespoons cocoa

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (or chunky)

2 teaspoons vanilla (OR 1tsp Vanilla & 1 tsp Almond)

    3 -3 1/2 cups dry quick-cooking oats

    Directions:

Add the first four ingredients into a 4-quart sauce pan.

Bring to a rolling boil and hold for 1 minute.

    Remove from heat.

Add peanut butter into the hot mixture and stir until melted.

    Add in vanilla.

Mix in the oats and drop by tablespoons onto wax paper.

    Let cool until set.

I know as a kid we spread them out on a cookie sheet and ate them as bars. I think either way is good!
