I thought this was interesting in lieu of the recent storms.

I know that Andrew put a hurting on the local birds,it blew away most of the trees in Key Biscayne. Anything over 10 feet was blown away. I know that after Andrew I never saw another cardinal down there. I think that they packed their little bags.

Andrew also blew away the Metro Zoos new aviary that they had just built. It had the most gorgeous birds like Hornbills and other exotics. They managed to save the flamingos by putting them in the zoos bathrooms. I don’t know about the other birds. 🙁

Thanks for the article. I was wondering about the hummingbirds and how this would effect them. I have 6 feeders out and still have quite a few eating so maybe they have not started migrating yet. I love to watch them and have taken pictures of them. They are amazing little birds!
