Hello kitties, just a quick note to ask you to check out the “I’ve only got 7 minutes thread” I added a few notes about Cheri’s recovery she neglected to tell everyone! 🙂

I always smile when I pop in to see what people are saying…

LOL at the thought of GD with short, purple hair??!!???

Also laughing about KUK inquiring about “hump day”….. could mean an entirely different thing in Egypt – LOL!!! visions of the yodeling camel dancers keep poppin in head!!!!

When my family was in the UK a few years ago, we had to get use to the “lingo” too.. didn’t take long to figure out what the “loo” was, but never did get the humpback pelican crossing signs…. KUK, what do they mean???

The first time that we went to England we had a terrible time with “chips”. We asked for potato chips to have with a beer and needless to say what we got was not out of a bag. Who knew that in the UK “chips” are what we call french fries?

lol, yes, we only call them ‘fries’ if they are those really thin ones like you get in macdonalds! Chips are called crisps here!

Crisps – I keep forgetting! When we were in London this summer with MCW,Rubia and Polly’s Mum we had to try mushy peas and bubble and squeak. The bubble and squeak was delicious. The mushy peas tasted like (yuck) baby food.

It was hot on the Thames, didn’t you think, MCW? That’s why I considered pushing you in over the comment about our ages…. 🙂

I’m very glad you didn’t WWM, there’s alsorts in the Thames!!! Yes, it was lovely and warm, I even had tan (OK, dark white) markings!!

Katy, it WAS a rubbish summer this year, I work for a sports wear company, predominantly cricket orientated, and this season was pretty much a total washout!
