i wish every day could be no kill day. i wish we could put an end to kill shelters and all shelters would become no kill. animals don’t decide there’s too many of us and just go and kill us, but we do it to them. their lives are just valuable.

A very important literary celebration is approaching as:

Bloomsday celebrates Thursday 16 June 1904 as that day is depicted in James Joyce’s novel Ulysses. The day is named after Leopold Bloom, the central character in Ulysses. The novel follows the life and thoughts of Leopold Bloom and a host of other characters – real and fictional – from 8am on 16 June 1904 through to the early hours of the following morning.
    http://jamesjoyce.ie/bloomsday/what-is-bloomsday/

I did not read Ulysses (except for the last part, Molly Bloom’s monologue LOL). I did not even attempt Finnegan’s Wake. Sad, what with my Eng. Lit. degree, but stream of consciousness writing is not all that easy to get, at least for me LOL. I did see films based on Joyce’s works.

Following pic features a somewhat “unfluffy” acronym so “Pardonez-moi” – but it works with theme of day.

Too high-brow for moi as well JK, except for tradition of peeps dressing up in garb circa 1904, sounds like that would be fun!

Tks JK – so very much appreciated. So today Mother Nature is weeping and wailing as you so aptly phrased it, and won’t let up. I am safely re-ensconced indoors and LOL as parade and lots of outdoor activities were planned for holiday and instead we’re waiting for Ark to load, so everything probably on hold ’til next yr, unless there’s a canoe-paddling event. Apolitical for most part, but prob with events where English music is strictly forbidden and province where peeps get highly paid to measure signs of shop owners just trying to eek out a living to ensure that French version of shop name is incrementally larger than English name. Too exclusionist pour moi!
And PS – read info on holiday, last para needs edit as not much adjustment has been made to allow for new “realities”. *Gallant grey-suited Tuxie offers paw to help KJ get down from soapbox*
