When I woke up this morning, I discovered that some time during the night I had had the mother of all nose bleeds. It was horrible. I got out of bed and immediately threw my pillow away -it was ruined – looked like somebody had been shot in the head and the pillow had been used for a silencer (it was really bad, you guys).

Anyway, I get up and wash my face off and the whole time – from the time I first turned on the light – Huddy was right there with me.

“Mama?? Mama??” As if he was asking if Mama was ok. While I was washing my face he put his paw on my arm so reassuringly I almost started to cry.

What a little love. He made me feel all better.

Whaddaya wanna bet he’ll try to kill me when I get home today? lol

Oh, what a great “nurse” friend to have!! Are you ok? What caused your nosebleed? Hope you are feeling better.

The humidity has been really low. When it’s dry I get nosebleeds. Whenever I go to Vegas I have at least one while I’m there. I probably won’t be at work all day – as I feel really yukky. A nice nap with my babies would probably make me feel a little better.

Awww, Huddy! What a good boy making sure his Mama’s okay! Hugs to Huddy!

I used to get nosebleeds every morning and night many years ago. Had to get some sort of procedure done, but I don’t recall having a nosebleed since.

Hope you’re feeling better, HM! Hopefully someone in the cyber cafe has some bacon for you!

Oh, Huddy and Huddy’s Mama. I swear I think that Huddy and Bosley are related somehow. . .I’d start crying, too, if that would’ve happened with one of my babies. Hope you feel better! FH

Sorry to hear you had such a bad episode. Thank goodness for Huddy! Such an angel sent right from heaven to watch over you. Such a blessing, please try and take it easy and don’t forget Huddy’s extra treats and snuggles tonight.

Aw, tell Huddy that he is a good guy. Does he really say “Mama”? My own mother always thought it was pretty cool that Jerrie could say “Mom”. Actually, it was mildly creepy because he had a very low voice so it really sounded like a child saying “Mom?” The kitties always seem to know when we don’t feel good, don’t they? Snuggle up and get some rest.

Okay Nibs & Nora’s Mom. HM hasn’t been able to help me in my quest to get the Bobster to say “Mama”, maybe you can help him say “Mom”?

Can’t help you there, Great Dane. Jerrie was the only cat I ever had who did it. It wasn’t so great when he would stand next to the bed in the morning asking “Mom? Mom?” (If I didn’t get up he would then jump on the bed and tap me continually on the shoulder, while yelling “Mom?” Maybe you should count your blessings.)

He does indeed say ‘mama.’ I figure it’s because when I first got him I’d put him on the cabinet to feed him (and to keep the other kitties away from him because they were SO big and he was so little) I’d always stroke his fur and say ‘you’re mama’s’. After awhile I’d just say ‘Mama’s’. He started ‘mocking’ me when he was about 5 or 6 months old. He’s been saying it every since. When I come home he says it, whenever I say it, he says it back. When I get up in the morning I’ll say, “Good morning Booble (Sebastian), good morning Mavalert (Maverick), good morning Huddy,” and he’ll say without fail “Mama?”. He’s a smart little guy.

Great Dane, you gotta say it to him a lot and he’ll say it back. My sister’s cat Jade always said “Hi” whenever he’d see anyone. If you asked him if he was ok he’d say “Yeah.”

Thierry calls me mum. Sometimes he says mama too, but most of the time when he is trying to wake me up to pet him he stands on me and put his nose near my ear and says mum over and over until I wake up. When he is aggravated with Gracie or Emma he has a big bad siamese YOW! and when he wants his squishy food that changes to NOW!

Okay, HM, I will continue on my quest! Bobby WILL say “Mama”!

    How sweet Huddy is HM

Sorry about the nosebleed, but so glad you are comforted by such a caring guy.

Now I want to teach my guys to say “mama”.

Good for Huddy, HM. Do hope your feeling better. Nosebleeds are the pitts, especially in public.

My cats don’t say mama but everyone has a different voice and vocabulary and I can always tell who it is from another room and what they’re making noise about. The same way I could pick out my kids’ voices in chorus. Isnt that a wonderful kinship we all have with our babies?
