I have two ~3 week old orphaned kittens. I was wondering how to tell if they are ready to start the weaning process and litter box training?

I’ve noticed the past couple of days the kittens are licking my fingers and gnawing on them after eating. One of them also is biting the nipple on the bottle a lot.

Does this mean they are ready to start weaning? Or are they maybe just teething?

No, it means they are hungry. You can make a gruel out of some wet food and the milk and put it in the bottle and open the nipple hole up a bit. Or put some on your finger and put it on the roof of their mouth and see if they take to it. Be careful they don’t choke as the texture will be strange for them. I’ll post links on your questions about weaning and litter training.
