So my three are still doing well. Almost lost the little boy last week but he’s doing much better now. They are drinking 15mls one feed and the 4 hours later I’m good to get 7-9 mls in them. Then the next feed it’s 15 mls again. Should I take this as a sign to length the time in between feeds? The 2 smaller ones are also getting nutri-cal twice a day. I’m very nervous to change things up because the two smaller ones have been yo-yoing so much whenever I do. All else is good with them except one issue with the little boy.

He seems to get over stimulated/ stressed easily. When he does he goes into attack mode. My hands are proof, lol. They’re favorite nipple bit the dust yesterday so I had to use a new one, omg! You’d think it was another cat trying to get them or something. Clawing, hissing, biting (barely any teeth, so it’s more like gumming), ears back, etc. I was wondering if they’re is anything I can give him, to help keep him calm? It’s crazy to watch this 3 week old kitten act like a full grown feral nightmare.

Also, all three will only allow my husband and I to hold them. We have tried to at least get them use to our teenagers but the hissing and spitting start as soon as they get close. Please advise, my heart breaks to see them so stressed!

The best thing to do to socialize kittens this young, is to get them around other people now. Remember that they don’t like loud noises, sudden movements–things like that can really freak a small kitten out.

As for the feedings, I wouldn’t change anything if it’s working. You could try adding some wet food to the formula (make sure it’s the pate style, with no chunks or shreds they can choke on) or the juice from the food and see if they like it.

It’s ok to give it to them even though they are just turning 3 weeks tomorrow? If so, exactly how much should I put in the formula? We are trying to get them use to other people but the one little boy gets so stressed out that he attacks and then goes into this daze state. Won’t eat, just kind of sits there in a trance. I just want to make sure I’m not messing him up to bad.

That is unusual behavior for a kitten so young. Handle him with care and gentleness, and if he doesn’t calm down to some degree, please mention it to your vet when you take them for checkups and their first shots.

Idk about how much food, maybe an 1/8 to 1/4 teas. in a bottle. You will have to open the nipple a bit, just make sure there are no large pieces going through since they are so young. I liked the Sheba perfect portions pate’ style because it had a lot of juice and the pate’ was very fine.
