I have a 9 month old black female with an “Angel touch” on her chest. Her name is Athena but we all call her Teena. She was one of two in a litter born to feral parents that we were able to rescue at 6 weeks. Her littermate and parents were sadly ran over by a tractor before we could rescue them as well. Just 4 weeks ago we found a mother and her 10-12 week kittens on our farm. Mother was apparently ill and passed before we got them all inside. We now have a pure black male (Apollo) and a tuxedo female (Amaterasu but we call her Abbi) that we’ve happily added to our growing clowder. I’d never had a cat or kitten before and was pleasantly blown away that everything I’d always feared just want true. Such loving, affectionate family members. Look forward to getting to know everyone here

Hi Rachel, welcome to TDK! It’s good to know there are other ‘farmers’ out there and that you are concerned enough to take kittens in and make them family members! Mine were rescued from our barn at different times when their moms had kittens and were ill prepared to care for them. I have 5 cats–only one outside now, and 4 inside babies that I have nursed from when they were all just days old. They are like children–precious and spoiled! 😆

    Welcome Rachael,

Guessing from some of your kit’s names that you’re interested in Greek and Japanese mythology. Way kewel! 🙂

Hi Rachael, thank you for rescuing Athena, Apollo and Amaterasu(Abbi).
Cats have a way of getting into our hearts. I am sure you will have wonderful times with them all.

I have just the one cat called Moonshadow or as she is most often referred to Shadz or HRH. She is a rescue cat and is almost 16 years old. That is her in my Avatar.
Please feel free to join us on the Cafe, we have different themes each day.

Oh yes, I’m quickly as my children and friends keep calling me “the crazy cat lady Mom” now lol. Well, I’ve always been an inquisitive person for mythological culture yet all my fur babies have been named by my human munchkins…except our pup…well dog Isis. We aren’t farmers, we live on a farm yet the previous owners still farm the land…I’m sad to say it’s those who keep throwing these poor cats into the outbuildings and then saying “do t worry about them it’s for pest control”.

    (Instructions follow.)

Now if you want to post pics of your kitties in your post you have to save them on your desktop and then transfer them to an upload site such as Photobucket. And then copy them to your post. I’m no techie and if other TDKers have clearer instructions, please add tips.

I’m owned by the kit in my avatar, a 7-yr old silver grey tabby, not surprisingly named “Dorian Gray Esq.” By my own self. Always referred to as Dorry. 😉

Ah I see, I’m going to have go deeper Internet savvy then to get some pictures up. Dorian is beautiful! Oh, well I guess naming my pup was technically mythological but We actually named her after our angel human daughter Josephine Isis Ebre….I personally have always felt a deep connection with the Egyptian culture.

I think I’ve figured the pic thing out, got photobucket. This is my oldest Athena, I’ll have to get a better pic of her sitting as she has the cutest white patch of fur on the top of her chest.

Use a free online photo app, I use Photobucket. Open up the app and upload your pictures then

To the right you’ll see “share this photo” go to the Direct line, copy it then open up TDK. Look up at the row of options, click on “img” you get a box asking to enter the URL. First you have to delete the Http:// then paste the URL from the photo.

    I hope this helps
