they are both dehydrated. I took them to the vet this morning. They gave them fluids shot. The also gave me prescribed canned food. My kittens have not drank any water or care for the food. I bought them krm so they could at least drink something they drank a little of that. They also gave me medications for diarrhea snd vomitting i’m so scared they have to go back tomorrow to see what’s going on. all they want to do is sleep.

Did the vet give you any directions for what he wanted you to do?

Yes. Just put out all their foods to see which one they want. None of them are working just the milk.. Not even the treats i give them and they usually run to get those. She said just try giving them water and see what happens.. she prescribed me medication 1 twice a day and the other 3 times a day. they played just a little today. all they want to do is sleep.. Tomorrow i have to take them back to her. If they don’t get better they have to be hospitalized

What medication are they one? How are you administering the medication?

clavamox which is 2 a day and and the other is metoclopramide syrup 3 times a day…

i have to use the droppers and open their mouth which is hard.. so i do it when they are sleeping. is that a good choice

Gabby,I’m sorry your kitties are ill,I wouldn’t administer the medication while they are sleeping as they need to be awake to properly swallow. Just keep trying to get them to eat but especially drink. Keep us posted

They may not be able to swallow properly if asleep. The Clavamox might supress the appetite. I would make sure to try and get a syringe of water down too, if possible. Prayers are with you!

I wonder if a little Nutrical paste (high-calorie paste) smeared on their mouth and gums (not in big lumps, nothing they could choke on) might give them a bit more energy to keep fighting, or maybe a smear of Karo corn syrup if you don’t have Nutrical. Poor little ones, I hope they get better soon.
