Hello, everyone! I’m new to the site. I recently found a little kitten. When I first found the kitten, it is so small that my mother and myself both figured it’s age to be 2-3 weeks. I took the kitty to the vet and they guessed it’s age to be 6 weeks, because it has some little teeth. The vet said she was so small because it was probably the runt and underfed since it was alone when I found her and the momma cat would have been done nursing. She only weighed 4 oz. at the time and now weighs 7 oz. She has been eating canned kitten food pretty good, almost a whole can by the end of the day since I try to feed her every 4 hours. Up until the last vet visit I had been stimulating her to use the bathroom because she could not go on her own at first. I finally saw her go on her own a few times so the vet told us I should not have to stimulate her anymore because she is learning to go on her own now. Well, she has not pooped in 4 days now and her little belly is full and rounded. Should I be concerned yet about her not using the bathroom? Whenever I try to stimulate her now, she is fussy with me and acts like it is irritating her. Is there anything I can give to her to help her go on her own that would not hurt her because of her small size?

I’m not an expert ,i recently had kittens for the fist time of my life, until experienced one respond i’ll tell you about mine, Lexi had constipation for few days when she was 2 weeks old, i made her lick a few drops of olive oil from my finger and it worked. last week, Nina had constipation for almost a week, i then she pooped by herself, but it was a very big one, last week the same happened with her but this time i stimulated her,and now everything is fine, she poop everyday, and she just started to use the litter box.
Try to give her a few drops of olive oil but not much, and if nothing changed call the vet,and maybe you should give her more water.
I really hope that you’ll get an expert advice, i can’t really tell much i’m also learning 🙂
i added constipation tag so you can see other advises.

I’m new to the baby kitten stimulation thing, but when I got my second he was constipated and had a rough time pooping the first night, and afterward he was very fussy about stimulation, but what seemed to work with him (who may now be a her), was to get him good and cuddly enough to let me roll him on his back like a baby with his legs in the air, and stimulate that way. I think it puts less pressure on the butt and your fingers kinda work the lower belly a little at the same time (and I actually got my other kit to go the same way today), so it might be worth trying.
