    Hello,

I have a 5 month old chartreux that I brought home when he was 13 weeks old.
His name is Jazz, his last visit to the veterian was about a month ago. He was spayed when he was 15 weeks old, and has all of his vaccines for this year.
He eats well and goes to his litter box every day.
He is very playful (he spends most of his time hunting toys) and likes to cuddle right before he goes to sleep.
However I’ve noticed some changing behaviours during the last week. Everytime he sees me, he meows and runs under the coach and hides for a few minutes.
Everytime I move, he runs away scared… he is very vocal, but I don’t really understand what he wants ( I though he wanted to have attention, but he hides when I try to pick him up)
He seems so scared, but there is no reason as I have not changed my way of acting with him at all.
Is this normal? What should I do? Ignore it?

    Thank you in advance

Hi Samantha – first off, congratulations, I’m guessing that your Jazz is today’s Daily Kitten! He’s adorable!
I’m not sure what could be causing his behavior change. Are his other habits, litterbox and appetite, cuddling, the same? Maybe he is experiencing a form of kitty adolescence, or perhaps something spooked him that you are unaware of.
Keep an eye on him and keep calm. Maybe you can coax him out when he hides with some interactive play. Hopefully he will get past his skittishness soon. You might want to give your vet a quick call too. If he was on any pain meds from neutering, they are long out of his system, but the vet should still be aware of Jazz’s growth and behavior.

Agree with Joan that whenever one is concerned a quick call to the vet can provide help if needed, or reassurance that this is a normal part of kitten stage. Jazz is stunning and a big “Bienvenue” to a fellow Montrealer as I mentioned on the post featuring your gorgeous kitty!
