My cat had 5 kittens born from approx. 2:30 AM to 3:00/4:00 AM (I lost track) on August 30th 2015.
It’s my first time with kittens, and I’m reading as much as I can about them.
Everything seems to be going fine, the cat is with her kittens laying for them to feed but I have a concern.
I read that kittens need to be stimulated when pooping/peeing else they won’t. I’ve seen a few droppings and some stains on the sheets. The only concern of mine is (and I’m maybe paranoid about it) how do I know she’s stimulating ALL of her kittens and not just some? does she make sure she stimulates them all?
if she isn’t then how can I know if a newborn kitten needs to defecate? Do they express it in some way (crying maybe)?

Don’t worry, Ed, it is hard-wired into mum’s brain to stimulate them all, when you see her licking and washing her kittens, evemtually she will get round to their little bottom areas and that’s what stimulates them, the touch of her tongue. All sounds well to me.

Hi Ed, congratulations! Yes, like jcat said, she instinctively knows how to care for her kittens, including washing their bottoms and getting them to pee and poop. Be glad she is doing such a good job, as hand raising kittens is a tough, demanding job! 🙂
