    Just wanted to drop by and say hello. We recently added a 9 week old female Himalayan kitten to our family named Lana. We were told she is a pure bread but she has the markings of a seal point and a flame point. Anyway breed aside she is pure cutenesssss.

    I have a 12 year old male tuxedo cat Zeus, who has never really lived with another animal ever! Indoor cat who has always rules the house! I am a little concerned how they will socialize. I have set up a 12 x 12 office room dedicated to the kitten. When I am not around she is in the room with her litter and food. We are slowly introducing the two cats.
    Just wanted to say and connect with the kitten community.

    Welcome Mark, Lana & Zeus to TDK. Lana is drop dead gorgeous and I am sure Zeus is wonderful too.
    You came to the right place if you need any advice and there is always lots of friendly chat in the Cafe.

    Zeus is becoming a lot more active. Mainly because Lana will not leave him alone 🙂 I think he is starting to lose a little weight which is good.

    The first few weeks was tough on Zeus, i think he was a little stressed out and didn’t know what to think. There was lots of hissing and he would swat his paw near Lana but not hit her. They seem to be warming up to each other even though most of she just wants to play and well… attack Zeus.

    They seem to eat each others food, ive been trying to keep the food separate but it is difficult.

    They seem to share each others litter… not sure if this is good or bad.

    When they play fight it never seems to get too rough. Think they are going to be good pals.

    Nice to hear how your duo are making progress. Well, you did name Zeus after main god in Greek pantheon, so I expect that eventually he might show Miss Lana who’s boss – in a playful, gentle way! There is something to a name as my Dorian Gray Esq. can confirm, still kittenish at 5 yrs old. BTW he sends your kitties a paws up from Quebec, and I send scritches. Canadian kitties rock! 🙂
