Hi everyone. I joined a couple of months ago after several months of lurking and got a wonderful, warm welcome from everyone. Then I crawled back in my hole again. Sorry about that. I’m going through a separation/divorce, and life has been a little tough. My two furbabies (Ozzie and Jeoffry) are staying with my husband and I miss them a lot. As he and I slowly go our separate ways, I see less and less of my darlings – and it hurts. So much that I didn’t even want to be reminded of cats and kittens for a while. Well, I’m getting myself back on track and I’d like to reintroduce myself: Molly, who loves horses (got one of those too – fortunately she’s staying with me!), line-dancing, writing & literature, and cats of course. Looking forward to rejoining the group, and this time I won’t disappear into thin air.

Welcome back, Molly! Glad to hear that you are getting your life back on track. You are certainly not alone in going through some major life changes. You will always find a sympathetic ear here on TDK!

Stay with us this time, Molly. We’ll keep you smiling. Maybe you’ll feel up to a new kitten some day.

Thank you darlings. I’m planning to stick around this time. Now I gotta go cuddle my horse Pita and play with the stable cat (an orange who’s getting terrifically fat on mice). Poor baby only has half a tail, but he’s so friendly. He likes to bed down in Pita’s stall; fortunately she finds him very amusing!

I remember you, too, Molly. Sorry you’re having a rough time and missing your kitties! Maybe, like Jo said, you’ll feel like getting another kitty or two in the future. Til then, enjoy pita and Mr. Stable Cat! Welcome back!

    Hi Molly,

Welcome back. If you’re around in the evenings, come join the antics on night shift.

So sorry you’re going through such a rough time – been there, got the tshirt.

Thank goodness for Pita. My daughter and I live together on 2 acres, and we have been wanting to get a horse or two. Maybe some day.

Please be sure to cuddle up to mine any time you like.

    Hugs and purrs.

    Hi, Molly –

Welcome back! We always have room for more, and the more of us that there are, the more we can give to each other. So sad that you are missing your kitties, but when the time is right, you’ll fall in love with another kitty. It won’t cause your memories of the others to fade, just to mellow out as you watch your new one(s) repeat some of the antics of the others, then come up with new antics.

It’s 2 a.m. where I live (Holland) and I should be in bed, but I had to check in and see what’s cooking. Well, I saw my boys this weekend. I went back to the house to pack up a bunch of stuff – clothes, books, some personal effects (sheesh, it’s just no fun…) – and had a nice cuddle with sleepy Ozzie upstairs and always-wide-awake Jeoff downstairs. Thrilled that both of them seemed happy to see me. I have a collection of kitten/cat postcards that I’ve now taped up in my own place, as well as some pictures of the boys. My husband is going away for 10 days in November and I’ll be taking care of them while he’s gone – so looking forward to it! You know, one reason I stuck with the marriage as long as I did was my dread at leaving my two boys behind. My husband is just as nuts about them as I am and they’re in good hands with him, but it doesn’t make it any easier. Anyway, thanks to everyone for your kind words. I’m very touched.

How about joint custody of the kits, Molly?

A nice idea in theory, but I’m not sure it would work in practice. My boys are indoor cats and they don’t even leave the house to go to the vet – she comes to us! Jeoff might enjoy the change of scenery – he’s an intensely curious cat and is always snooping around looking for something new (preferably edible), but the Oz is one of those nervous types. He doesn’t like strangers or new things in general, and just wants his folks around him and his routines to keep him happy.

BTW, my two are on Catster. How do I get turn my name into a link to their page? I noticed that you’ve done that, FondaHonda

Pretty boys. I know why you are so proud. And I know you want what is best for them. Good luck.

Molly, I gave your boys treats from my tabby Molly. I know the frantic feeling when your Jeoff disappeared out the window. Where abouts in Holland do you live? I know in an earlier post you said you were from here, do you plan to come back? I’ve been doing a lot of reading about Holland as I have ancestors from the north, Friesians for the most part.

Hi Paulajeanne (and my namesake!). I live in Limburg, which is as far from Friesland as you can get in this small country! Limburg is the little ‘penninsula’ that juts out in the south, bordered on the east by Germany and on the south and west by Belgium. I’ve lived here for 21 years now and don’t have any immediate plans to go back to the States – got my business here, my horse, my friends and my mom, who’s 84, not to mention my boys. But I do plan to visit more often and maybe spend a couple of months a year State-side, if I can afford it at some point. I can work just about anywhere in my business (I’m a translator), as long as I meet my deadlines!
