This year I am not a bad Meowmy, I have remembered Shadz birthday without prompting from Catster.
She is 13 years old today!
It hardly seems like thirteen years since the girls and I went to the SPCA a saw a tiny black kitty with the faintest of spots on her. She was 7 weeks old and was soon in the car with us on the short trip home. Within a few days she was very ill with cat flu and had many visits to the vet but between the vet, us and her she pulled through but with a tendency to have weepy eyes at times of stress. Who would have thought she would become a black dappled Tortie too.
We have had so much fun and heaps of love and also tears over the years with her but that’s what being ‘staff’ to a cat entails. Her ‘sisters’ have grown up and left home and returned and left again over the years but she still remembers them when they come home for a visit.
How does one spend their birthday, on Meowmy & Dads bed sound asleep because it is raining and cold. Typical cat.
She has some beef offcuts from the meat we are having for dinner and I know she will nom them up quickly.
Happy Birthday Moonshadow our ‘furdaughter’.
PS. no hogging the bed tonight just because it’s cold. 😮

Happy Birfday HRH Shadz!
Don’t remember if I ever heard her coming home story, thank you for sharing it! Leela is rushing thru the wormhole to visit and give Shadz a claw-di-cure and spa grooming treatment. She also has a thermos of nip punch and some salmon puffs. Sorry, she didn’t really ask me, or you. She is usually more polite, it’s my understanding that she did stop for some pansies for you, MS.

Thank you KJ, I will pass on the best wishes to Shadz when she emerges from the bedroom.
LOL Leela, I can see it is going to be ‘girls time’ upstairs on the bed with nails being done and salmon puffs devoured and stoned kitties before long.
A small bunch of pansies has appeared while I was checking the slowcooker so it looks like Leela has arrived. I will listen for the giggles and squeeeeees. >^..^<

Abby runs through the wormhole to join the celebration – with a knitted mousie/feather toy and a can of boiled peanuts for Meowmie 🙂

…. Abby is 10 this year, so she looks to Shadz as a big sister …. she’s excited to visit NZ, and wants to compare their beaches with hers here in Fla. ….. *swoosh* here she comes!

My trio will soon show up with some freshly dried catmint direct from garden! It was growing until about 2 days ago when we had bitter frost!
So, here’s a dried bouquet of it for b’day kit!

Aww, love the story of her coming home MS. I love adoption stories the best. No one would ever dream when they bring a cat into the house, they way they entertwine themselves into our lives and our childrens. The comings and goings, good times and bad, our kitties are there with us through everything. They don’t care how we look, whether our hair is fixed or we have our mascara on, they just love us because, well just because.
Have a wonderful day Shadz, try and stretch it out for at least a week–that’s what I try and do!! 😉
