While updating a few things on Gem’s Catster page today, I realized that it was 1 month ago that she came to live with us. Things are progressing, although slowly. Right now everyone is quietly relaxing – all keeping a watchful eye on each other. Gem has turned out to be quite a love-bug (not with the other cats though). She has also turned out to be much more assertive than I thought. Obviously she was the queen in her previous home and she expects to be treated the same way here! I don’t mind indulging the little lady. Tonight she ventured out on the deck for the first time. Actually I think it was the first time Nibs and Nora LET her come out onto the deck. She didn’t stay long but she liked it.

Here’s hoping the girls will continue to get to know each other and become friends.

All the girls are getting extra scritches – Gem for her anniversary, and Nibs and Nora so they don’t feel bad. It occurs to me that I need to change my user name. I’ll have to think of a good one.

Well, when I left this morning, it was a very contented scene: Gem sleeping on the counch, Nora sleeping on a chair, and Nibs curled up in some tissue paper on the floor – all within 10 ft. of each other. No growling or hissing. So yes, they are making good progress.
