Hey 🙂 it’s been a while since I posted. Gypsy is prolly around 7 months old now (maybe 8). For a loooong time she had issues with Coccidia, which led to blood and mucous in her stool. That’s all cleared up except her stools still aren’t normal like my adult cats (not really diarrhea but loose stools)….and boy is she gassy!! Horrible gassy she clears the room she smells so bad. My two other cats don’t have gas issues and have normal looking stools.
I bought some cat food specially formulated for sensitive stomachs and she’s only been on that for two days. Hopefully that will clear up her gas. If not, I plan on deworming her again.
Google searches have led me to think this is quite common in kittens (even though personally this is my first kitten to have such a horrible gas issue). A lot of the posts by concerned cat parents is that fecals came back negative and their cats had already been dewormed but still experiencing gas issues….and that maybe it’s diet related.
Anyone experience something similar with their kitties?
Gypsy had been on two rounds of metronidazole, one round of Albon and a round of Panacur. She’s had her fair share of medicine for parasites (which makes me think its diet related and not parasites, but we will see).
Here is a picture of Gypsy (in the middle) with her two adopted brothers, Oscar (tuxedo 6 years old) and Oliver (black pygmy panther 7 years old)
