Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, we of the southern Pacific don’t appear to exist.

    Interesting reading though.

We had bagels with a cheesy omlet this morning! We often have pizza bagels for dinner, bagels with soup on a winter night, and bagel sandwiches for lunch.

One of the things I remember most about my visit to England in 1979 was the delicious breakfasts!

Oh gosh, I do the east asian breakfasts the most often. I actualy feel the best when I have soup with rice noodles and a bit of meat.

I think you will find that the Full English is probably only eaten at week-ends for the majority of people do not have time to cook this in the morning. They are right about the tea though……have to have about two or three mugs before I can get going in the morning!! I do like a poached egg or two on toast though….yum yum

I’ve had Marmite and Vegemite on crackers. Mmmmmm. I really love warm biscuits with clotted cream and Golden Shred Marmalade. Mmmmmm. And a huge cup of English breakfast tea. I hope I get back to England soon.

And people say our food is terrible….it’s really no that bad nowdays, people are a lot more aware of their food and where it comes from….me and Daves dad are going to try and get an allotment as we don’t have a garden. Would love to grow my own vegetables.

On one of my flights home from England there were many returning tourists. I started discussing with the lady next to me how my suitcase was filled with butter, clotted cream, toffees, yogurt, marmalade, tea from Wittards, etc. Soon everyone in the neighboring seats joined in with how delicious the food was and how they had heard all kinds of negative stories about English food. A friend of mine spent the summer of 1970 in England and came home saying how she longed for the food. I hope you get your garden allotment DM. Thompson & Morgan is one of my favorite seed companies and of course there is nothing like fresh herbs and vegetables.

Thanks Krazikat, I already have so many plans about what I would like to grow on an allotment: Tomatoes(of course), Aubergines, courgettes, peppers and various herbs, potatoes, carrotts and swede in the winter months…..possibly strawberries and raspberries also……have to wait and see, also help to get me and dd fit as well!!! All in all a win win situation I think!!

Num, some interesting ideas as an international change of pace. I’m usually in a hurry in the AM so usually do some oatmeal, a dollop of yogurt with fresh fruit with coffee and kitty smoochies!

I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal in England. Unhealthful, that’s another story (fish and chips, anyone?), but not all the food is a heart attack waiting to happen.

JK, Mr. K & I had cold cereal this morning after months of oatmeal, and I missed my oatmeal with cinnamon & raisins.

I hear ya Kilroy…luv my oatmeal. Don’t eat a big bowl just a scoop to go w/ yogurt etc…gotta have it even it the warm monthes! But a nice international brunch on the weekend would be fun and a walk around the park after to “work it off”!
