Sir Henry Cole (1818 – 1874) created the first commercial Christmas Card in 1843. Today the kits are pawing off cards to their purry pals for Ex-purr-ess Delivery.

Hmm-I wonder why the idea of a Christmas card came up? It’s amazing how many peeps try to dress their kits up. I don’t…I know better. Even if I could put holiday stuff on them, it would minutes before they had it off.

Some folks ask why I sign cards “Warm fuzzies.” My dad (RIP in rock n roll heaven with a joint) used to say that peeps he liked were “Warm fuzzies” and people who were not nice or good were called “Cold pricklies.” I think that’s pretty much narrows the world down. 😉

PG, I wonder which side of that pursonality divide I would be on! 😉
MS, I fur one can’t resist that panda. Didn’t know that weren’t just the black/white variety. This one looks to be quite foxy! 😉

Remnants of snowstorm out. And as it’s way early traffic/plows have not cleared streets. So it will be the more srs boots. Though later, when streets should be better I might opt for the wedge heel suede high boots for “look” purposes when I head back out to Knitting Circle in early pm. Wish that all decisions were on this level. *Sigh*

Yest needed a pick-me-up. So I picked me up a srsly on sale burgundy/black trim tote. Stressful wk approaches and shopping doesn’t make it go away, this not being an option. But it does help just a bit.

PG, I’m finding “Vikings” to be a bit confusing. Bjorn looks like a young Ragnar – easy on the eye for sure. But when did he get that toughie of a wife who looks like younger version of his mom? And where’s the dau he had with the woman who ran away? Going to have to rsch reviews l8r. It is interesting to know how (allegedly) history played out.

I love the Vikings series! … I’ve followed it since the beginning …. KJ, you should be able to go back and catch up with ‘on demand’, or from Netflix, or I think from the HistoryChannel on line …. it’s a good saga ….
Up early to wrap things up before heading out to take MIL shopping today, have a great TGIF everyone! …
oh, and Miss Caddy sends salutations from underneath her ‘porch blankie’, where she spent the entire night warm/comfy and got breakfast catered to her on the porch this morning! LOL spoilt!

Happy Friday all!

So sweet AV, to hear how wonderfully spoilt Caddy is! It’s fun to make their lifes comfy and for them to have full tummies. Although sometimes mine think that they can never get enough to eat!! Ah well, that’s the life of rotten kitties!! Currently, mine are all around my washing machine, surely there must be a wee mousie huddled under there waiting to make a break for it. *sigh*

PG, love the description of your dad!! Rock ‘n roll, a joint, warm fuzzies and cold pricklies. I’m sure that I can be both of those descriptions to different people, or Mr. KZ may say I’m both! 😆 He would be right of course.

Well, off to the downstairs in search of a fresh brewed cup of coffee!

AV, you just might have started something as Dorry will be wanting his own secluded quarters with butler (as myself.) 🙄 Caddy deserves royal treatment – Dorry I’m not so sure of.

I have watched “Vikings” from very first episode. I’m just finding that with the new season there are some gaps that have not been filled in. No biggie, still love the series.

KZ, I can also be both – depends whose on the other end of my being nice or being not so nice – all of it deserved.

Biting cold outside. And now for some Hazeling. N/Hazel also away for next few wks. Not only will I miss her, but KJ will be obligated to do some vacuuming. I know, not a biggie either. At all.

Then off to Knit Circle for about 2 hrs before Sabbath sets in like before 4 pm. Plan is to finish or nearly finish sweater that seems to be taking overly long for me. Not to worry, I do have others to wear. 😉

Hi guys! Appropriate to the theme, I got an email from Joan today about the Card list. I’ll write back soon, Joan.

This morning we did our annual Christmas donuts with aunt and uncle (and aunt’s best friend who is visiting). Such fun! I totally thought of KJ because aunt and friend had a street find…beautiful holiday yard decor…one of those reindeer and sleigh made of white strands with white lights. The lights were broken so they cut off the old lights and restrung it with white lights. Friend is taking it with her for her yard. (And yes, the owners did happen to be in the yard so they confirmed it was being discarded….lol).

Two years ago I had the ide of collecting Krispy Kreme holiday box lids and making some sort of display. Last year I forgot to collect one, but this year I remembered and got my crafty on today. Took a pic to share. The ribbon can be ditched and they can be displayed differently as the collection grows…

Hi everyone – took all day but I got here! Took care of some business with hubby this morning then we went to a diner for brekkie. We don’t do diners too often so it was a nice treat, and seeing how diners are a Jersey thing, it was a nice experience.
Worked on the outdoor shelters all afternoon. I haven’t replaced the blankets with straw yet, but covered three of them with a tarp and insulated the sides with bales of straw. Then I covered my little garden with straw and made a fence dome, and covered that with a tarp. I thought the cats might like a place to hang out that isn’t completely closed in. Last I saw, Louie has the shelter with the heating pad and Star is in the big dog shelter. I think she just wanted to watch what was going on and be out of the cold. Berta played Goldilocks and poked her head in each one. Dewey opted to come in the house and sit by the fire.

MS, it’s always is hard for me to think ‘in your seasons’ with Xmas being in the middle of summer, but stay cool and I loved your thread with the NZ pet pics!

Mr. AV was a real champ today, taking me Xmas shopping and actually not complaining (too much) ….. got almost everything done, just a few last things to pin down. I bought Dau the prettiest Sworski bracelet, they were all the rage in the Vegas malls when we were there with Son for Thxgvg …. flexible and light as a feather, but so pretty and sparkley …. she’ll be like a cat with a light dot! LOL

Goodafternoon all.
It’s an odd day here, can’t seem to make up it’s mind what it wants to do. Was slightly overcast but quite humid when I was having breakfast then later there was a sudden shower and then the sun came out and everything steamed. The road was steaming so much the steam was whipping up over the car as I drove and roofs on houses looked like they were on fire with all the steam rising off them. Now it is raining again and I swear HRH Shadz is shaking her paw heavenwards in frustration and meowing ‘sort it out !’. 😀
We are at 21C and 88% humidity.
KJ, I didn’t realise there were red panda either until one escaped from a zoo here in NZ a few years ago. They are very smart creatures when it comes to making good an escape. They are also really adorable looking if you can actually see one as they are usually curled up asleep when I visit the zoo. Your pick-me-up sounds great.
AV, Caddy is almost as spoilt as Abby and they both deserve to be spoilt too. Her porch blankie has the Royal seal of approval.
KZ, when cats amass like that around something then it’s a pretty good option that there is a bug or a mouse nearby. Hope they catch it before it escapes into the house further.
Lagatta that was a lovely vid of Cole and Marmalade. It reminded me of the first time our farm dogs and cats experienced snow. The cats took in in their stride but the dogs were all tippy toe and puzzled looking. LOL at Livia suddenly becoming highly visible.

ECB, great street find by Aunt and friend and revival of said find too.
JJ, cute new avatar, is that Dewey? The Junction crew should be all sorted with the hard work you have done to ensure they are sheltered and warm this Winter. LOL @ Berta being Goldilocks.
AV, oddly enough even though you are in your cooler season where you are over the Christmas period we have very similar temperatures at that time. What is cool for you is hot for us despite being the same. Crazy world huh!
I managed to convince Mr MS to Christmas shop with me tomorrow and I hope he is as good about it as Mr AV. Every year I tell him he can do the gifts, both thinking of what to buy and then actually fighting the crowds in the malls etc but every year he somehow gets out of it. Not this year! ! !
The bracelet you got for daughter sounds so pretty AV. I am sure she will be like a cat with a new red dot.

Love hearing about everyone’s day today! Mall shopping, bracelets (OOOOH, I want one!), remaking shelters for your cats JJ, (love the new avatar too, btw) MS and her hot steamy weather (yuck 😉 ) JK, busy working and looking forward to lots of snow. PG, you are a warm fuzzy too!! KJ, hopefully you made it to knitting without braving bad weather and hope you have a restful sabbath. ECB, I LOVE your decoration made from Krispy Kremes! Very festive!
And lagatta, I LOVE Cole and Marmalade–I think they are the funniest cats with the funniest expressions!

Update on the mousie story: Well, it ran into the bathroom closet with the dirty clothes. It ran out of there into the other side where all the toilet paper rolls are stored when Willow had his back turned. I tried to show Willow where it went, but he would have none of it. I went into the kitchen, and came back only to find that Willow had all the toilet paper rolls strewn across the bathroom floor, with said mouse in his mouth trotting towards me. (They are so cute when they have a ‘prize’ in their mouth.) The other cats were following him, so he lets it go and there was a free for all, Mr. KZ, me and Avery and she’s saying OH MY GOD and kept putting her hands on her face. After it ran into every room with all cats and all humans on it’s tail, Mr. KZ reached down and cupped it in his hands when it promptly bit him. 😆 He dropped it and it ran toward the door where I was standing. I moved the door as the mouse ran under and squeezed it by mistake a little too hard. 😕 After trying to save the darned thing, I ended up being the one who did it in. I took it outside, much to the cats’ dismay, and I felt just awful. Poor little thing. The cats are finally calmed down until next time…..

Oh KZ, the tail of the ‘mouse in the house’ or ‘the one the cats didn’t get’. Sad as the ending is I had to 😆 😆 😆 at the rest of the story. A racing mouse to cheer on and toilet rolls all over the floor, Avery with her hands over her face going OMG OMG! and a multiple room chase and a savage mauling of a tough farmers hand. Hugs for you KZ.
Life isn’t boring in the KZ household.
I too have been bitten by mice when all I was doing was rescuing them. I The day decided to remain wet here. HRH is somewhere outside watching raindrops.

I love the Cole and Marm in the snow. Miss Gaea waltzes out there but LilBit was like Marm. Ewwww-what’s this on my paws! Miss Moppet didn’t seem to care about being outside. She thinks she wants to go out but given the opportunity…

I love watching kits around trees..but not my kits.

Miss Caddy knows how to keep her new peeps in line, AV. 😆 How is Abby doing? You said they had seen each other but not what happened.

HI ECB! I haven’t heard from you lately. So I’m thinking what can one do with donut boxes? I’m impressed with your art work.

Oh, a greasy diner-they make the best brekkies. Love the new avatar, JJ. But what do your resident kits think about Dewey being front and center. Hmmmm…

Hi MS. I hope the weather got it’s act together for HRH. I gotta say I agree with the husbands on shopping. I detest shopping and esp. malls. Now local shops are nice and quiet.

I’m watching the movie Troy. It’s one of the movies where Brad Pitt and Eric Bana are so buff.

I’ll be starting the Cafe for Caturday soon.
