Bunsen Burner Day celebrates the birthday of its creator, German chemist Robert Wilhelm Eberhard von Bunsen. We might want to take a few minutes to appreciate the value of this important scientific tool. Or not!

Chemistry is fun because I can blow stuff up…not on purpose, you know. I learned what chemicals mix with water and which ones do not!

Not exactly chemistry but close enough 😉

It’s Friday! We’re suppose to get a storm that’s going to drop 7-10 inches in Denver. Paw crossed that it happens! The weekend is upon us –

Good morning – love the chemistry jokes! The Bunsen Burner is something somewhat taken for granted, so I’ll take this day to think of it and its usefulness. Leela is like the kitty by the wood burner, the warmer it is the more she stretches out in front of it, though sometimes she sits in a loaf pose and stares at it. I don’t like jellybeans, but when they’re attached to a cat, sure!
It’s a rainy chilly day here in Jersey. My truck was making a noise yesterday so we took it down the mountain earlier. I wasn’t planning on going anywhere today. Hopefully each day the aide comes, mom will be a bit less resistant. Yesterday a nurse came to evaluate her to determine if her long term health insurance will pay. It better, she’s 90 and that’s what one gets that type of insurance for!

LOVE the chemistry jokes! I’m not a big fan of chemistry but just love chemistry cat for some reason. Maybe it’s because I love puns and he’s pretty punny.

Car trouble for me today too, Joan. Car has been in the shop all day. We’ll pick it up tomorrow morning.

Spent a lot of the day planning and researching for older son’s first year of high school next year. I’ve gone to meetings, gathered info for months….now just need to make some decisions this weekend. He’ll still be homeschooled but we need to decide which resources to make use of. For example, he might still attend the twice weekly classes he goes to now, or make use of other similar programs or use online classes or a mixture of things (our most likely choice).

I’ve nearly completed my diner themed breakfast nook wall…just one sign missing…it’s on a slow boat from Holland. I have a few empty spots for my diner cup/saucer collection to grow. All the dishes are vintage. The signs are reproductions. Here’s a pic…

I did appallingly badly in chemistry, but I love Chemistry Cat too!
    😉

ECB, your breakfast nook deco is so charming! Really pawsome!

Well, I’m up to where I can be re getting ready for Passover, still next week to get other things done as hol approaches.

We’re getting wet snow now, which makes it nice to be inside.

So I’m off for now and wish all a gr8 Caturday!

Hope you survived the day, JK – have a great weekend!
Your nook looks awesome, ECB! I like those signs, and the vintage dishes go so well with them. Hope that slow boat arrives soon! We have old signs on our sheds. Many have faded, but some are in pretty good shape. We also have a bunch of antique license plates as well as the license plate from my first car!
Hope your car trouble isn’t super pricey, unfortunately mine was, but was a necessary fix.
Exciting time for son with all the options available for his education. I was sort of an invisible student, but I did enjoy meeting with my guidance counsellor to pick out electives and levels of courses.
It is still cold and rainy here. We had pea soup and lemon poppy muffins for dinner, purrfect for such a night!

I really like your wall, ECB. It’s very creative and shows off your collection. Now, I’ve heard of the slow boat from China but Holland…. 😆
