AKA Baking Soda – so many uses, so little time. So let’s follow the kits lead and focus on the soda!

    Awww! Get well soon kitty!

Kittahs and soda-they love to play with the straws and, sometimes, the bubbles. My kits love the sound of the bubbles and not the feel of them.

    We’re looking at Friday!

    No cross over pic –

I didn’t get to the pepper pot soup Cafe but it does sound interesting. KK is busy making her MIL’s gazpacho for dinner this evening for Mum while she and Mr KK, Airy and I all went to a gourmet market. We had Hungarian Langos with garlic and sea salt, Airy said it was like the funnel cake she had at a fair in the US. We also had Japanese Karaage, wee chicken bites quickly fried in hot oil while the KK’s added Kransky to the International food list. All this on a hot sunny evening.
JJ, gentle hugs and fond memories for yesterday. I do like that your Dad has paid you and Jroc a visit. Brrr snow, glad the wee kits are all snug in their choice of decorated shelters.
ECB, best of luck for the new house. Paws all crossed here.
We were also shocked to hear of Debbie Reynolds passing too. One of our national papers cartoonist did two very beautiful pics on their passings below.

Good morning! Funny pics today. Thanks KJ, PG and MS! I think the smacking soda is my favorite…lol…cats. Reminds me of Eko, Emily and Leo. They have the funniest sibling relationships. They get into these smacking matches while I’m fixing their meals. I always serve Leo first, then Eko, then Emily. Emily nips at Eko’s butt and makes him squeak every time I put his food down. They do love their routines. The other day while I was serving Leo put on his big bully face and made Emily walk away from the serving area. But as soon as he turned around to walk away, she came back and gave him a big smack in the butt.

We settled on a price on the house, but I’ll feel better about the deal after the inspection, which will hopefully be next week.

Joan, peace to you as you remember your dad. I love that he is so special to you and your sister.

Morning all! …. oh EC, I hope everything goes smoothly with the house purchase, how exciting for you and your family!

I’m not a soda fan, in fact can’t think of the last time I even had a sip of one …. possibly decades ago! ….. Dau too never drank sodas, just don’t like the fizz or taste of them …. yep, we’re weird!

MS, I love the cold soups as much as the hot ones! You should post KK’s recipe!

Going shopping/exchanging today with Mr. AV and Son, then probably home to take the tree down! …. so much fun putting things up/decorating, but a large PIA taking them down and packing them away 🙁

It was chilly last night (41), so Miss Caddy slept in her ‘blankie bowl’ on the porch, and should be a crisp (but sunny) day today! Have a great one all!

We have to remember bicarb’s important role as a safe and hygienic cleaning product. Regular use of bicarb in drains with heated white vinegar poured over keeps them clear and sweet-smelling – it has many other household uses.

I don’t like sweet fizzy drinks but do like bubbly water, whether naturally so or carbonated. I do want it to be spring or mineral wather though.

Livia prefers plain water (changed often) as most cats do. Towards the end of his life, due to kidney failure due to extreme old age, Renzo drank A LOT of water, and as a result, I had to change his box at least twice a day…

Hi all – so many uses for baking soda, probably one of the top things you’d consider wanting if you were stranded on a deserted island. I enjoy soda, but not on a regular basis. We keep a 12 pack of Coke and a 12 pack of ginger ale in the house for when we want something fizzy. Ginger ale is also good for an upset tummy, and for me, Coke just tastes so darned good sometimes!

    Afternoon all!

    Happy 2017 KJ! 🙂

When I do my weekly Hazeling (I take care of the kitchen, ‘cept for floor) I boil up vinegar to clean micro and ensure that it smells fresh. Then I pour some baking soda in sink drain and pour the boiling vinegar down drain. gr8 2-for-1!

Baking soda is also good for cleaning jewellery and my t. oven. Has just enough scouring power without harsh chemicals.

Closest that I come to soda is pouring some juice in glass and adding club soda. Reg soda is IMO too sweet.

Cold and blustery out as temps drop. More snow expected. Let it come down tomorrow, as I will be in sleep mode I so don’t care.

    N. just called as back from 3 wk vaca. Really missed her and glad that she’ll be here Tues. 🙂

Lol …. then walked across the street to our fav pub/craft brew house …. fun day!

I did go out for a long walk despite the blustery weather as I had some errands to run, but also because I really needed some exercise. Ran into a couple of friends, which was nice.

I also bought a small piece of a ewe’s milk cheese at a reasonable price; thinking of making a white pizza if I visit friends – just about everyone likes that.

Lagatta, I love white cheese pizza and make my own frequently. I love to use a combo of cheeses, ricotta, fontina two of my favs …

Hope everyone is having a good evening!

Mmm, someone say white pizza? Yummy! I make pizza bagels often and use whatever cheese is around, which is usually at least four different kinds!
It’s late and I’m still up, and I think I see a New Year’s Eve party in the café next door.
