    Friday greetings from Saturday. 😀
Deb, so sorry about your work colleague’s passing and I hope his dear mother can go and live with her sister.
Buttons, guess what some large retailers are doing here, Black Friday sales! When a local newspaper asked people in the street if they knew what it was all about they had no idea and when it was explained to them they thought it was a silly idea. I guess anything goes when it comes to the ‘almighty dollar’ for retailers.
You all sound like you have had a wonderful Thanksgiving day.
BB, want to come and help me clean all my light fittings etc. Have decided that Mr MS’s family Christmas will be at our place this year seeing as no one else is putting their hand up. Sigh. We are going to have to fence off some of the yard so the little grand nephews/nieces don’t fall over the terraces. So much to do and so little time to do it in, will have to recruit daughter that lives near me to help. Sigh again. Guessing that we may as well have my family for the evening dinner seeing as everything will be set up for lots of people. Sigh again.
Joan, LOL at the image of comet asleep on his back with mouth open, I see that in the chair next to me most evening but it’s Mr MS. Was comet snoring too?
KJ, love the bbqing cat pic.
JUst had the lawns mowed so we are looking nice and tidy here but the equinox winds are still blowing strongly and it’s a fight to keep my vege plants alive. Thankfully my beautiful hollyhocks and giant delphiniums are a little more sheltered but the soil dries out very quickly everywhere and we already have fire bans in place and it’s 2 days until Summer officially begins.
Nearly 2pm here and I must go and get myself some lunch.

Neighbor was very thankful for the feast – says the cats won’t est it so they won’t bother her.
The sunset over the snow covered mountains was beautiful, as was the pretty half moon and emerging stars. Being daring and put the garbage out tonight – hoping it’s cold enough that the bears are asleep. Hoping the raccoons don’t get into it too. Seeing that the top bag is used kitty litter they may leave it alone. Garbage day is Thursday so tomorrow is the holiday schedule.
Hehe, Comet was indeed snoring, as was Leela upstairs. Have not heard Mac snore yet, but he still sort of has his guard up. He looks so comfy in front of the woodburner – so cute!

Hope the bears stay away Joan. Maybe Mac doesn’t snore because outside it would have given him away.
I was tying up my tall flower spikes and heard something rustling in the dead leaves and a little skink or gecko popped out and leaped over a plant pot and under the deck. It’s the second gecko we have spotted today so that means HRH hasn’t got them all. She gets growled at when she catches one so maybe that is paying off now. Mr MS has been busy in his ‘man-cave’ creating a way of me using my garden sprinkler above the garden instead of it sitting on the garden. Mission accomplished and now I have him cutting a round ply top for the large whisky barrel so it can be a stand up table. Having him off work recuperating from surgery has it’s benefits. These are all easy jobs where he doesn’t have to exert his arm too. I haz a happy. 😀 😀
HRH is feeling better and eating more food finally and I am getting her Lysine in to her. She has spent the morning exploring the ‘man-cave’ and coming inside repeatedly for brushes or lurking in the ladder fern. She seems to be a happier cat for some reason only she knows.

I’m so glad Shadz is feeling better and you are getting some Lysine into her. Leela spent the last hour reminding me not to forget her treats before I fall asleep on the couch, which for once I didn’t – usually I’m out by 9pm! She actually ate a whole lysine treat (broken into 4 pieces) before getting to the treats she likes.

Oh snap. Forget about Leela getting her lysine – we have yakkage, sigh.

    Oh dear, don’t want yakkage.
I forgot to take HRH’s meat out of the freezer, I’m hoping the chicken thaws quickly or it will be FF.
Still a beautiful day(5.30pm) except for the strong winds, with any luck HRH will stay out hunting until her dinner is thawed.

Funny thing about cats and yakkage. As opposed to humans, who must take time to recover and feel sorry for themselves, Miss Leela was playing with her “nipstick” minutes later! Nice to see, as I haven’t seen her play with anything lately unless it’s interactive with me.

LOL, I can’t see humans recovering from yakking so quickly.
Time I headed off to cook dinner, bbq and salad.
    Sweet dreams Joan.
Change of plans now – the sun went behind some large dark clouds and the wind is quite cold and biting. No bbq tonight. 🙁

Hmmm, yep, save the bbq for another evening! Nighty-night.

Peeking in to see what’s going on in TDK land 🙂

Love to read the stories and getting the visuals of Comet lying back totally relaxed, Mac lying near the fire, Leela playing (and ok yakking) and HRH checking things out and finally eating again.

Thank you for all the wishes and thoughts for my co-workers Mom and his dog, Max.

So Thanksgiving Eve I hear a weird noise like someone is breaking into my bedroom window, hmmm so I get up and turn on the backporch light….lol, the light is on a ceiling fan and underneath is a Raccoon dancing about on his hind feet watching the ceiling fan! Guess he was trying to climb the Star Jasmine plant for who knows what reason, at least he didn’t wreck the window screen, it was just scratching the window itself.

Oh my goodness Deb, that must have been quite a funny sight.
I’m sitting here scrunched up on the sofa because HRH has decided she wants to snuggle up against me and barely leave me any room for my mouse to move. She flicks her tail across the mouse off and on and of she doesn’t watch out the mouse will ride straight over that tail.
She ate a double meal this evening which is so wonderful.

Jan, it was cute seeing the Raccoon dancing and mesmerized by the ceiling fan 🙂 Now I know who knocked over all the water dishes out in the back yard and maybe who has been doing that to the birdbath in the front yard. Now Kitty keeps going and sitting at the door to see if he sees anything, he always looks out the door when I do 🙂

Yay for HRH eating a double meal!!

LOL, the mystery water dish vandal is exposed. Kitty must enjoy watching a raccoon act like an idiot.
I started a Weekend Lounge but for some reason it’s not appearing in the topic list but it is on the ‘recent replies’. Got me puzzled.
Guessing you are at ‘that place’ Deb.
It’s great now that HRH is eating normally again, I may have discovered what has upset her. I went out to water the garden this evening and I could smell a tom cat had been around. We have noticed a new cat wandering around lately so maybe it is to blame.

Oh yeah I am here with bells on my toes, ok maybe not. Still laughing at the thought of the raccoon in the backyard, silly thing.

Was sitting here thinking about John and his Mom and Max his dog, so wrong that the caretakers are being taken so soon (my brother, John and others) there are so many other air thieves that should be first, sigh. John was a good guy, hoping that he left his insurance to his Mom and I think he has the house paid off (he was excellent with money issues). Just worry about her being alone, she never wanted to go to senior centers or meet and make friends unless John went with her, he tried to get her involved in things.

Ah ha, another suitor is hanging out. Sounds like you have tons of things to do for the upcoming holiday and getting things ready for visitors.

Darn about the Weekend Lounge going undercover.
It is unfair when the carers go first. I hope that John’s Mum is well looked after and that Max has somewhere to go too.

Hoping that she keeps Max, she loves him as much as John did. She knits him blankies to lie on so he is comfy, so figure he will be sleeping or keeping near her even though he does have a bedroom to himself. John used to be a cat person, when his last kitty passed at 20 yrs old he couldn’t take losing another one and adopted Max from the shelter when he got his house about 8 years ago.

Believe he had enough life insurance coverage, the base insurance for us here is 5 X our annual pay so that is a decent amount (about $250,000) and I believe he paid off the house already and was putting what he had paid in mortgage into investments.

Oh i hope his Mother can keep Max, they both need familiarity. Hoping the life insurance was all sorted too.
I think I managed to delete the Weekend Lounge.
We’re heading to bed now, it’s a cool night here and after a day busy outside I am barely keeping awake.
I’ll see you on the flip side Deb.
May your shift go swiftly and without any dramas.
    Chin scritches for The Crew.
