BTW on radio call-in show some peeps were moaning and groaning that as Thanksgiving on 27th is US holiday, Canada should not have Black Friday sales. IMHO these naysayers need to get a life. If I can help the economy and help myself, why is this a bad thing? *Purrsonal excuse for some online shopping as done very recently* LOL

I can’t find any suitable Black friday pics so this adorable cat will be my offering.

Catch you all on the flip side if you are still functioning after your Thanksgiving dinner.

So how was everyone’s thanksgiving 🙂 I bet there are a lot of full tummies in the cafe today 🙂

KJ driving to work today on the radio were ads for Black Friday sales in Ireland!

Oh just bought the mouse undercover interactive toy for Ms Moneypenny and Mr Noodle so they don’t go at the tree 🙂 will post a video when I can

Morning KJ, g’night MS, afternoon Buttons. I don’t do Black Friday, prefer to stay home with the black cats. Probably will get out for Small Business Saturday though.
Winter wonderland drive off the mountain to mom’s yesterday – there is snow there but it’s not on trees down there. Fabulous dinner, brother did a fine job with the turkey. Enjoyed the antics of his new kitten, Lexx (must submit her pic). Came home to no power, it had been out much of the day. Did come back on though. We were in good shape though, after stoking up the fire and lighting our battery operated lights and, of course, feeding the cats.
It’s beautiful but cold here, with snow still sticking on trees.

Morning all! …. food coma made me sleep in today 😉

…. I wouldn’t go out in ‘black friday’ today for love or money! ….. I cannot stand the crowds/crazies! ….. Mr. AV is playing golf (smart man) so I get to sleep late and be lazy …. did most cleaning/putting up before I went to bed last night, so today if I do anything, it will be leisurely re-decorating from Thanksgiving to Hanukkah/Christmas stuff ….

…. Son and Dau had a nice potluck Thanksgiving at Son’s place yesterday, with a few friends who didn’t go home for the holiday …. Dau made Turkey legs in the crockpot and everyone brought a side …. we skyped during dinner and I had to laugh at Son, who was wearing a ‘turkey leg’ hat, that he scored at the Macy’s parade yesterday morning! LOL ….. so glad they have each other up there!

… I have major leftovers (which I love), so Sunday will be my ‘turkey tetrizzini’ meal …. tradition, and I love it!

Happy Friday KJ, MZ, Buttons, Joan and AV,

I had a great thanksgiving with my nephew and family and even managed not to stuff myself (too much!). Bummer about the power outage, Joan, but I’m glad you had a funny, furry show at your mom’s. I don’t do the Black Friday sales-I decided long ago there’s nothing I need badly enough to deal with the lunacy. But I do enjoy small business Saturday though.

I’m off to volunteer at the Veteran’s Clinic. Have a happy ~

    Hey all!
Sounds like everyone had nice, if somewhat adventurous (Joan) holiday. I don’t do Black Friday either except for the online deal I took advantage of as yesterday. No Small Business Saturday around here, but I duly support small businesses as rest of year – or all businesses LOL!
Lovely black kit pic MS – epitomizes the mystery of basement-ness! And love those Invisible pics PG. Nice of you to volunteer on day off.
So we’ve established that no one’s shopping – but I sincerely hope that the black kits as Comet, Miss Leela, Eko and Mr. Noodle are getting more attention than usual on this Special Day (if that’s even possible).
Snowed last night as promised, but nice outside if a bit cold. Now that I’m in for duration I can say that LOL.

Well, I did go shopping! Only because there’s a lovely outdoor mall near in-laws house and its a gorgeous weather day for walking around. I’m mostly a window shopper, just like seeing whats out there. Not looking for any deals…I don’t do the crazy eyed stampede thing. Crowds weren’t really that bad, except for a check out line that reached the end of the store in Old Navy. Luckily I didn’t need to check out there. Just picked up sweatpants at target for son and had some nice kid free time, which I don’t get often.

The photos are so funny today…grumpy cat is perfect! Glad to see that folks had a nice day yesterday and that Joan is back online!

    Hi ECB!
Very quiet in Café today, kits included. I think that they’re all over-satiated on the bird as turkey LOL. No need to make excuses for shopping, not with me! But no way would I wait in a long line. I find that with sales like Boxing Day/Week/Month LOL, I can get equally good deals after the opening day hoo-haa. Sounds like you had a good time and picked up what you needed nonetheless. I go to bazaars and get some terrific stuff, but I hate when peeps fight, actually volunteered twice (was enough!) and to watch adults go at each other over an item of clothing or pick pricing fights with staff is not pretty LOL.
So think that I’ll sign off ’til tomorrow evening as my Sabbath starts in under 1 hr, nightfall comes way early at this sime of yr.
Have a GR8 Caturday ECB and all who come in later!

Greetings, finally feeling decent enough to do anything.

Had a nice enough Thanksgiving, went to two dear friends houses and shared with them. The day ended on a very sad note, one of our co-workers passed away shortly before midnight, don’t know for sure but believe it was a massive heart attack and he passed before even getting to a hospital. He was his mother’s caretaker so we are all hoping that she can go live with her sister, she was a recluse and didn’t have any friends here except for her son and his dog.

So sorry for your co-worker, Deb! … how sad

… well, I’ve got a good start on switching the table decor ….. I just need Mr. AV (who is napping) to get the boxes out of the attic for me, so I can unpack the Hanukkah/Christmas stuff and pack up the Thanksgiving stuff ….. convenient how he manages to ‘fall asleep’ when I have my burst of energy/decorating mode going ….. hmmmmmmmmmm

Lol, AV. I know how that goes. Hubby loves his weekend naps.

What a sad situation, Deb. Hope something works out for the mom.

Had a lovely visit with sister, nephew and wife today. Nephew worked his butt off all day, fixing things for me with the help of his sweet wife. My sister and I tackled my ceiling fan, glass bells surrounding the lights, etc. and also cleaned the other globes over the lights in my kitchen. Nice to clean together, much more fun… and wow does it look nice and squeaky clean! Was lovely spending time with them. The day turned out to be really pretty and not too cold. They loved how gorgeous it was here, with all the snow and the blue sky! Another pink sunset and a clear, pretty moon! YAY!
I can’t believe how great vinegar works on mirrors! Easy too, and no streaks. Used it on the inside of my car windows also. Oh, and my Bosch windshield wipers work perfect and with NO noise!! The other ones I had were so annoying.

Brought dinner to neighbor – turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, rolls and gingerbread. She said between piling on sweaters and blankets and the cats cuddling, she kept warm yesterday.
Deb, I’m so sorry about your co-worker. Best wishes that his mom will be in good hands.
PG, good of you to volunteer – love that pic you posted!
My black kitties (and Mac, who just wants to fit in) feel good because I’ve been home all day. Had to giggle at Comet, he was slumbering in his “nest” behind the wood pile next to the woodburner. Laying on his back with his mouth open. Reminded me of when one lays on a lounge chair and dozes off, your mouth gapes open and you can’t do anything about it!
Supposed to get quite cold tonight, hoping tomorrow isn’t too cold for small business Saturday. I will probably just go uptown and check out a few local spots.
Ok, time to heat up some leftover pizza from the fundraiser the other night. Good reason to buy pizza!

Oh, Joan, I have to email the info on your holiday tree! I keep forgetting and don’t want to miss it!
Did you see the moon and pretty sunset tonight? Nice!!!
I would love some pizza…. How sweet of you to share leftover dinner with sweet neighbor. I bet she was tickled! I cooked my turkey at 9pm last night cause it needed to be cooked. Was up until 2:30am taking all the meat off the bones so I could throw the carcass out with garbage this am. Didn’t cook anything else yet. Just too tired and not interested yesterday.
Sister and niece also spent time trying to help me figure out how to TEXT with my new phone. NADA…. 🙁
Yes, our kits are always SO thankful to have us home with them. I LOVE to be home with them too!
Deb, that is so sad about your co worker…. SO sorry….. 🙁
