Frankenstein was born in 1818 when Mary Wollenstonecraft Shelley, at the age of 21, wrote the story “Frankenstein”. Lurking in the darkness we discover one of the best known horror characters of all time!

    Crossover pic-

Calling the monster “Frankenstein” and not “Frankenstein’s monster” is a quick way to distinguish English majors from everyone else.
Frankenstein was the Doctor and the monster was his creation, it never had a name in the book but did call himself ‘Adam of your labours’.

Moonshadow, the pictures are terrific. I always had a soft spot for the monster when I was little because he seemed so gentle. I never did find out if he was really the one who killed the little blond girl. But thanks for the pictures.

Afternoon everyone! …. can’t believe it’s almost Halloween! The school children all walked by this morning in their costumes – lots of super heros and princesses ….
Boy oh boy am I TGIF! … been a long/hard busy week, glad it’s almost over!
I loved catching up with yesterday’s thread – I have been on TDK for a decade …. like MS and others, I remember the walls we used to hit, posting so fast from all over the world! …. the goo wars, wackbonk sticks, the Night Shifts, Sven, the cybercycle and oh so much craziness! Many have come and gone, a few of us have stuck around, and I love getting to know the new members …. pictures are new to the site when KM2 changed the format, and now they are a regular smile for me 🙂

    I love our TDK family!

JJ, what a sweetie! Tyler looks so comfy in your arms!

So just in for a sec to wish all a gr8 Caturday. Knitting book author was a no-show, unfortunately she sprained her ankle and had to cancel travel plans, whatever, still got me working on smaller projects, finished another sachet this pm.

So catch you all tomorrow nite!

    Good morning all.
KJ, that goodnight kitty with yarn was for you. Ohhhh dark and stormy on Frankenstein day – how appropriate. 😮
Dell I found the monster to be of a gentle nature too.
Following on from my post yesterday about TDKers being friends I sadly forgot to mention the awesome kindness one TDKer did for my daughter Airy when she and her then partner moved to LA. Partner was doing a PhD at UCI. They were moving into an unfurnished apartment from here in NZ and CBM(CheetahBoysMama) not only gave then furniture but even had it delivered for them. What a wonderful lady she is with such a kind generous heart. She made their move and settling into another country so much easier.
AV, how did I forget the goo wars and the whackbonk sticks and Sven. Oh be calm my trembling heart, Sven our personal TDK masseur, he of the rippling muscles and string hands. 😉 😛
    Our TDK family is ever.
JK, love the Frankenstein cake and the pretty gaillardia flowers.
Positive Vibes for all cats during Halloween especially black cats. JJ, I’m guessing you are holding Tyler, so sweet. It’s like a furless kitten.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, love the pic JJ. So sweet.
KJ, sad the knitting book instructor sprained her ankle and was a no show. But as you say the book got you started on smaller projects.
It’s a windy and slightly cloudy Saturday here. Lawns were mowed so we are looking tidy again. Shadz was not happy to wake up to hear the mower and even grumpier when she came down later to discover her favourite grazing patch of grass was gone. She then stalked daddy blackbird who was innocently gathering worms for his newly hatched brood in one of my trees. I had to growl Shadz and call her by her full name. That got her attention and after flicking me some major stink-eye she stomped off to the other side of the property to curl up under a shrub.

    JJ, you’re a doting aunt!

The little black cat among the pumpkins looks like my wee Livia.

I hope I’ll be able to keep her in. Years ago, Renzo ran off on a Hallow’een day and was missing for 5 weeks. He returned with the first snow on the 6th of December, starving. I didn’t want him to go out, but he sneaked out when I was bringing clothes in from the line on my balcony – it was a beautiful warm day.
