Good morning all from a hot and sunny Saturday. Ducks from a plethora of thrown shoes. 😀 😛 😉
AV, you had me LOL and almost ROTFLMAO with your story of the missing food bowl. I get a mental image of Jojo trotting off home with said bowl held firmly in his teeth with a sample of his noms still in it so his owners can see what he prefers to be fed. They will be surprised. 😯 I wonder if there will be more to this story.
Joan, Cheezeburger language is cute and the only misspellings allowed in my vocabulary and then only with my TDK friends and daughter Airy. You all understand.
    Hi Cheri and KZ.
BB, sorry your friend from so many years back has passed away, do you realise you have just honoured his memory so beautifully by telling us all about how kind and friendly he was and how he will be missed and by so many too. It’s out there in print now, forever. 🙂
I have been worrying about Susie too and hope that her situation has had some positiveness to it. Love the crochet cat blanket, great for a young child to roll on on the floor or for a spoiled cat.
JK, wow that is a big beautiful cat and so good he has a furever home now. Rescues rock.
LOL @ Dorry demanding more food after seeing Pickles, like a man looking at body builders and wondering where their muscles are. ‘Slow down’ ! ! You KJ? Really?!!!! No way. (giggling like crazy). Of course you would dress like a cat, anything else would be unthinkable. ROTFL at the moments paws over the leopard print handcuffs, you would have been very up to the moment if you had included them.
😉 Ouch! I can understand you going ‘manx’. Please report back on peoples reactions.
Wow Pickles certainly landed on his feet so to speak when he went home with his new owners. Lucky Pickles and his ‘staff’ too.
JK, love the ‘spring flowers’, brilliant idea.
OMG! You can sex bell peppers. Will this cause me pause for thought at the fruit shop when I go to buy peppers. Will I purchase only one gender from now on? Hmmmmmm, I am conflicted. The 4 lobe female is easier to cut but do I want to always be buying and dicing lady peppers or shall I buy the three lobe males when I need something to chop and char. Decisions decisions. 😐
    RIP Leonard Nimoy/Mr Spock.

Looking for tomato pasta sauce recipes as I write this post as I have 10lbs of tomatoes to do something with today. My plants were kind to me this year.

    Waves to MS and Joan,
Now that’s a bed ensemble that would work for me! Double-dare anyone to go into fruit store/grocery and ask for a female pepper LOL. Interesting that the females are full of seeds, while the males feature bumps. If anyone tries we want full report on clerk’s reaction. “What are you doing lady? I’m just sexing the peppers, don’t mind me.” I will indeed provide a report on my get-up as next Thurs., I might be the only participant as peeps tend to go all bashful when push comes to shove, but when I set my mind to something, I’ll not restate the obvious LOL.
Showed someone a Cheezburger pic and they were aghast, until I explained the deal to them.
anyway time for my well-earned rest day so ta ’til tomorrow night as Caturday and have a good one all!

yeah, Sal (Jojo) was so funny! and I searched the yard looking for that stupid bowl – NOWHERE! LOL

MS, try this sauce recipe, it’s SO yummy and has some different flavors! You can serve it over any kind of pasta, or rice:

    Picadillo

1 ½ lb Ground beef or chicken – browned
    1 chopped Vidalia onion
    3-4 cloves minced garlic
    1 can petite diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce (or crushed tomatoes – you can do this in a blender)
    ½ cup roasted red pepper
½ cup halfed green olives (with pimentos)
    ¼ cup capers
    2 bay leaves
    1 tlb balsamic vinegar
    ½ tsp Salt
    ½ tsp Pepper
    ½ tsp turmeric
    ½ tsp Spanish paprika
    ½ tsp Smoked paprika
    ½ tsp cumin
    ½ tsp cinnamon
    ½ tsp cloves
    Red pepper flakes to taste
Brown onions & garlic first, then beef …… add all other ingredients except olives & capers, cilantro/green onions
Add olives and capers last 10 min. Top with chopped cilantro or green onions

that sauce freezes beautifully! …. and if you don’t know what Spanish paprika is, it’s also know as ‘hot paprika’ …. if you can’t find it, use a little caynne pepper, but not too much …. just enough to give it a little kick …. 🙂

let me know how you like it! oh, and Mr. AV likes a little shaved parm cheese on top 🙂

KJ, I have a great rapport with my fruit/veg shop people and often swap tips and hints with them so I will see what happens when I tell them about the peppers. Maybe I will challenge them to put up a sign about it, may lead to overhandling of the peppers though. 😯
AV, the sauce I am making is a base sauce that I can do things with later but I like several ingredients in your sauce recipe and will include some I think. I’m almost finished scalding and skinning the tomatoes(sounds like they have been naughty)just the smaller tomatoes being difficult so I’m re-scalding them.
Then I’ll get everything together and do the cooking. Onions, garlic and fresh basil along with various spices and herbs.
If I disappear it’s because there is a huge cricket game on today – New Zealand v Australia – in the Cricket World Cup being played here and in NZ. This game is in NZ so the NZ team have the local crowd. It’s going to be a fantastic game and I’m sure this side of the Tasman Sea will stop to watch. Thankfully it’s all one day cricket and fast paced and at times finger biting action.
http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/cricket/teams Some nations you wouldn’t expect to be cricketing nations.
Back off to the kitchen to skin tomatoes.
Catch you later KJ and Deb(waving) I’ll watch that vid later too.

…. that’s what it’s all about, MS! make your base, and then add the extra ingredients when you make the dish! …. enjoy, I would love to have enough tomatoes in my garden to ‘put up’ …. but of course, you know the story of the ‘squirrel relocation’ when I tried to grow them 😉

…. Mr. AV just breezed in , I think I’ll strong-arm him into taking me out to dinner for Friday ! Later all!

    Enjoy the cricket game, MS.
AV, hope you are having a great evening.
Made my spin of Swedish meatballs tonight. Made the meatballs with bacon ranch dressing and coated with cream of chicken and Parmesan cheese. Served over egg noodles.
