Good Morning!! SO nice to see the sun! Was a very sad day for me yesterday… π I was basically on here ALL stinkin’ day! (Oh, how my knees and legs hurt… LOL)
Have been thinking of our “TDK Susie” and her sad circumstances… so messaged her sister to see how she is. Got a message from one of my dear friend’s hubby telling me he had to take her to the ER. Feeling MORE sad. π Next, see on Facebook a picture of the sweet man, “HARRY”, that owned a little ice cream place in NJ that my family, friends, and I have gone to for most of our lives. He passed away two mornings ago. Harry was in his 80’s. I had no idea he was sick. π He lost his wife about a year ago, this month I believe. I know I mentioned him on here before, don’t know if any of you remember. I was fortunate enough to have seen him this past spring and the fall before that and he remembered me! Always did. He has NO idea just HOW many people he has touched in his lifetime. He gave FREE ice cream to church groups, baseball teams, and if someone was a bit short, it was okay. He always made you feel special, valued and was SO glad to see you! Always smiling, happy, having fun, and enjoying life….. I hadn’t seen him for years as I rarely get down there. When I saw him that fall ~ 2013, I said, “I’ll see you again”, and he said he wouldn’t be around in another FOUR years! I said, “FOUR years? I will be back when you open in the spring!” Don’t think he believed me, but I was there in April/May 2014, when my friend Sue took me down to see my sister before her operation. He was surprised. We chatted awhile, ate Italian ices and both gave him hugs when we left. Didn’t get down again last year as Sue had a foot operation and was laid up for 6 months. SO, my heart is so sad…. but, at the same time I am so thankful I DID get to see him those two times. He will be missed by SO many people. Grandparents, their kids, then grandkids used to all go there. He had the best fries served in small paper bags, the best ice cream and Italian ices, and even made yummy hamburgers. I used to take my daughter there when she was little for a hamburger, fries, and ice cream for dessert. It was THE BEST….. WOW, such lovely memories for all of us. I’ll look for him when I get “Up There” some day. He lived a good life and made people SO happy! What a wonderful legacy… I don’t know if his sweet niece plans to keep the ice cream place open or not. Don’t think I can go there again though…. I haz a sad……
Cute kitties as always!!
