    Hey KZ,

Since you asked for close-ups of xstitch:

Sabbath xstitch pic featuring 2 “challahs”. Supposed to be challah (egg bread) cover but I decided to frame it instead.
    http://i1347.photobucket.com/albums/p711/katzjpickz/pic_xstitch_zps5a7aec27.jpg

Cushion topper xstitch. Msg from Maine Coon kit is reminder to self LOL.

Both worked with 3 strands over 14-ct Aida cloth. Sabbath pic uses metallic thread for lettering – very complicated to work with.

And not that anyone in purrticular asked but here’s the jewellery endeavor:
Rhinestone tiger (found in art supply store for next to nothing, took me over 2 hrs to affix to chain as had to cut chain, then get the thing to hang properly) somewhat kitschy but IMHO in a good way.

Good morning, KJ. You’ve outdone yourself with the photos the last couple of days. Love the amazon return one especially. I love your tiger necklace. Anything clothes or jewelry or house decor that is cat related brings a smile to my face since Emily entered our lives 4 years ago and we became instant cat people. I just used a bread basket cloth that was cross stitched by a friend last night. :).

Just had Christmas breakfast leftovers….sausage egg strata, pumpkin bread and cranberry. Delicious…I’m a huge breakfast fan so always enjoy a special one.

Heading to my moms lake place for just 24 hours after inlaws leave (midday). Too cold to swim but we’ll take a nature walk and watch Christmas movies. Hubby will stay here with the cats.

Good morning ECB, KJ and all who come after! KJ, love the crosstitch close-ups! VERY elegant top pic, and love the cat one with note to self, LOL! I really love cross stitch, I was good enough at one point I could cross stitch anything, but now–not so much. Lettering is especially tricky I think, but one thing about it, it can be pulled out and redone. I have almost ruined a cross stitch years ago, but trying to afix it to a sticky board for framing….because once it’s on the board, there’s no readjusting!
ECB sounds like a lovely day ahead for you and no worries about the cats because daddy will be there! Your breakfast sounds lovely too, I had a Christmas cookie and coffee. Not good, LOL! But was just too lazy to make myself anything else.
This will be a lazy day for me after the craziness of yesterday, and to top it off…the sun is shining!

Hello all 🙂 happy St Stephens day.. We don’t call it Boxing Day in Ireland at all 🙂

Just sitting down to left over dinner .. Will check in again in a bit and catch up on everyone’s day 🙂

Oh KJ I have a necklace almost identical 🙂

Oh and I forgot to comment on your necklace! I like it! Jewelry tools are fairly cheap, you just need certain pliers to open and close jump rings and bend wire for closings, etc. You can affix cute charms and accessories to jewelry you already have and make an entirely new piece. You can get all kinds of colored wire to make cute things to add to cheap glass jars too and add charms to those, make great gifts (or to keep for yourself!) Lots of wonderful jewelry making sites that have designers that put their designs on for free for earrings, necklaces and bracelets.

Hi KJ, ECB, KZ & Buttons! Took my truck to get a remote starter installed, Christmas gift from hubby. Had it in my other truck, but it stopped working after a while. It’s nice to start it from my living room and get in a warm/cool/defrosted truck, ready to go.
ECB, sounds like a nice day ahead at the lake house. Hope you are keeping that towel you noticed yesterday in a special place. Sometimes stuff like that is good to hold onto.
Cool necklace, KJ. Thanks for posting pics of the crosstitch works too!
Oh and I like all the pics – always seem to – and really like the cat in a box with boxes, cute!
Hey Buttons, so – St. Stephen’s Day? Is it the same meaning as Boxing Day? Interestingly, Boxing Day isn’t really recognized here, but is noted on calendars with Canada in parentheses.
KZ, the sun is shining here too, nice!
Just gotta say, I enjoyed the Christmas Day thread yesterday, reading about everyone’s day and their pressies, not to mention Miss KJ, the spin instructor!
Comet got one last gift last night. We hide toilet tissue but took a chance and put it on the roll downstairs for mother in law’s convenience, “for a few hours”. Of course we forgot to put it back under the sink after they left, so Comet played with it overnight. He doesn’t just unravel it like normal kitties, he digs his claws deep into it, rendering it difficult, if not impossible to use!

OK – time for some brew – back to part 1 day 5’s fun!

Hi all! *waves madly in all directions*
You’ve got me blushing ECB. But credit where credit is due. JK’s “turning me on” to monthly listing of “Special Days” jump starts my creativity. And I would never have returned Basement Cat to Amazon, even if I’d ordered Ceiling Cat! A day by the lake in the sunshine, ah yes! Here where it’s dull and windy and cold it’s just a daydream.
JK, that bird looks like he’s wearing a grass toupe LOL!
KZ, I could very well be expanding my crafty skills (and expenditures LOL) as many jewellery findings are actually available in Dollar Store and I like doing intricate work. My friend/Hazel has made some fantastic pieces, very complicated and I’ve “commissioned” a snake pattern bracelet based on earth tones. She sells her work and it’s so nice to be able to select the beads and get exactly what I want. She also gets lots of ideas via Pinterest.
Buttons I think that you and I have similar taste in jewellery, you too Joan!
Joan, nice Xmas gift from hubby (not that I know a thing about auto parts), but it’s something you want and that’s what counts. Actually it’s next week as will be Miss KJ as instructor for self (and looks like thereon in ea Thurs ’til Spring), cannot seem to get enough peeps committed enough to sign petition to demand a morning class. Plan B would be to attend the 7 am class, but getting up 2x/wk at 4:45 will cut into my “beauty sleep” not to mention wreaking havoc with my psyche! Yesterday one of the fantastic instructors gave impromptu class for a select few and I was privileged to get the “heads up”. Nice for someone to teach when they are not getting paid.
Now I don’t know about you guys, but I hate it when I have to get a guy to do something for me. As today bought new cool mist humidifier on sale as it’s desert dry and static-ridden here. So I’m trying to undo cap for water filling and can’t get it open. Finally gave in and asked neighbour, he opened it with one twist and pointed out that the directions were off as said clockwise when unit indicated counter-clockwise.I’m verbal rather than visual but whatever. Let’s just say the instructions left me somewhat “mistified” (pun intended). 😉

JK, hope that your Xmas was “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”! (Earworm alert).
And just who is that Friday guy, sorta gives me the creeps as would not want to run across him sitting in the park LOL.

Good Morning KJ, ECB, Kittyzee, Buttons, Joan and Jean and all who come later,

We have a white Christmas in Denver…YEA!!! My great nephew and I said we were going to have a white Christmas but nobody believed us. Of course, it was brown and above freezing. Then around 5 p.m. the snow began falling and falling-up to 8″. I went out at 7:30 a.m. and shoveled snow for an 1.5 hours. I got most of the heavy stuff moved around. It still snowing but lightly. Then I went to empty parking lot down the street and did donuts and whirly birds. Too much Fun, folks! 😆 When I came in I had left over tamales, posole and sopapillas. These are part of a traditional Spanish Christmas dinner.

KJ, thanks again for opening the Cafe. Who doesn’t love a cat on Boxing Day. They are so cute. 😛 At least you have your humidifier running now. I love your creative energies. My nephew is self taught jeweler (like my dad) and here are the earrings he made me for Christmas.

That’s an awesome gift Joan. I fuss about when the car is too cold/hot but I never thought about getting a remote starter. Mmmm, maybe…

So, I’m writing this email and I look over and this is what I see:

My LilBit Guy relaxing after a rousing bout with his sisters.

I hope we all had a wonderful, relaxing holiday with fur babies and other loved ones.

    Have a happy

    Hey PG,
Snow fun!!! I like to jump into crunchy Autumn leaves when no one is looking, and even when they are! Here it looks like a veritable wasteland, grey, mucky patches of grass and trash blown into the streets. But we’ll get our goodly share of snow eventually. Glad you like Café openings, it’s what I do, ‘cept on Caturday/Sunday or Weekend Lounge, or my holidays. Stunning earrings, do nice when you know that someone took the time to make them especially for you. Love the pic of LilBit. Feel like I can almost reach through the screen to gently squish his furry tummy. Please do it for me, from his Auntie KJ!

Yay, tummy snorgles for Li’l Bit – thanks PG.
Very pretty earrings – oh to be talented!
Good for you Joan on remote starter from Santa.
Same as PG…would like one too but always end of scraping w/a few choice words thrown in…hmm…no snow in forecast ’til
    end next week…guess I don’t need one/yet! 😉

OK – time for more fun on budget as part 2 day 5…later!

Well I’m off in a bit as my Caturday of rest begins soon.
Have a terrific one all. JK have a great wknd – wonder if there are big sales at shoe place like everywhere else post-Xmas. If there are big crowds fighting for your attention, just take it all in your stride (LOL, yes I meant to intentionally pun.) I’ve worked in selling, so I fondly recall the crowds on special day. 😉
    Til Caturday nite!

    Have a peaceful Saturday KJ.
Thanks for the retail sharing. Yes, sale continues thru end of January. Started last week – peeps sitting on wallets ’cause of the
Holidays. Hoping they will purchase for themselves as best selection options now – don’t wait too long or deals will be gone.

Will be heading out sooner today for very slow/shipping will soon close. Yay – may head to health/fitness center to start
    New Year’s resolutions early!
Waves/wishing all a good weekend – next couple of days if must work!
Hey Tux – mwah, smooch for you! Later kits!

Hi PG – those earrings are fabulous, nephew is very talented! Yay for the White Christmas; how fun doing donuts around the parking lot, I haven’t done that in a while. Aww, LilBit is adorable, just aching for belly rubs!
Hey JK, you’re on the home stretch – the weekend is in sight!
See you later tomorrow, KJ. Good that you have the humidifier going, a must have for this time of year!
I highly recommend investing in a remote starter. Great for those of us who don’t have garages or have vehicles outside. It is awesome to have the defrosters/heat/ac, etc all set.
