Kitties believe in equality – as in no one can pawsibly be their equal. Women’s Equality Day commemorates the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, granting women the right to vote. Grrrl Power!

Women’s equality means that we have equal value and should be accorded equal treatment…And we are still fighting the battle.*sigh*

Good morning! And goodnight to MS and the cute kitten in the pic!

Finishing up the second week of the school year today. The first two weeks have been great…what a blessing. I was a bit nervous about all the changes.

Oh, hubby is officially a licensed mental health counselor! Another blessing, for sure. He’s working with the credentialing dept at the hospital to get everything in order so they can start billing insurance for his services…important for his new job. As an intern he could only take self pay clients and employees who needed counseling (paid for by employee assistance program).

    Happy TGIF morning all!
Great pics KJ, MS and PG! …. good rest to those heading to sleep
EC, congrats to Hubby, great accomplishment!
Heading into one of the few remaining relaxing weekends for me – come Sept. I will be doing ‘continuing ed’ for some of our multiple licenses that we hold – always a tedious PIA 🙁
The tropics don’t seem to know what they want to do …. storm system still not really formed, but weather people predicting rain, no matter the formation or not ….. getting ready to batten down the hatches!
Have a great day all, check you guys L8R!!

    Morning all!
Gr8 pics MS and PG. Loving Catty Suffragette – a grrrl kit after my own heart! And of course the big kit who likes “younger men.” 😉

    Should actually read:
“A cat slave’s work is never done! 😉
Congrats to hubby, ECB. Finally, plus he gets to work at something he’s good at and that’s fulfilling.
AV, never quite got why if someone knows their stuff they still have to do Cont Ed.
I’m starting a Wed pm interest course in a few wks – “Invitation to Socrates’ Café”, philosophy and search for truth, sounds like a KJ type course LOL.
Why I’m getting stressed over washer del as tomorrow I can’t quite fathom. N. will be here to supurrvise and I will ensure that Dorry does not get in the way. I’ve had appliances del before, I need to srsly get with program.
Temps are something like 36C with heat/humidity. When I leave A/C it will prob feel like stepping into unasked for sauna. Hoping that “B” doesn’t come to spin class, so not my worst prob and whole situation is getting looked into whatever this means. I’m just in general feeling a bit tetchy. This week was srsly not stress-free and it takes me a while to chillax. l8r

    Hi everyone – girl power!
Congrats to hubby, ECB! Glad school has gotten off to a good start.
AV, you may need to get the tutu out and blow that storm back out to sea.
It’s pretty sticky here too, KJ. I’m feeling a bit edgy too, though I’m not sure why.
Just had to break up a fight between Rorschach and Louie. Rorschach was clearly the aggressor, as I had to wait for them to take a break and be on the side that is away from Rorschach and close to Louie. (I know better than to try to get between 2 cats fighting, especially when they are not my own.) I grabbed Louie and held him tight so he couldn’t see Rorschach while he caught his breath. Then I set him down on a chair while continuing to block his view. For the first time in my life I went after a cat with a broom – no hitting of course. As I tried to shoo Rorschach away, he attacked the broom a few times before making his way into the brush in the back yard. I wish he would stay out of my yard, he is a nasty, grumpy cat. (Being very nice with the adjectives, as you probably figured.)

Oh wow, Joan. Bad boy, Rorschach. Rorschach is fixed, right? It would be nice if he would stay out of your yard.

Good morning everyone. Nice day here. Got up early to get things done. Got a load of wash out on the line. The cooler weather has been SO nice.
Hooray for hubby ECB!! Glad school for the boys is going well. I loved Homeschooling my daughter and miss it a lot.
MS how are you feeling today?

Oh, no Joan!! Just read about the cat fight! Poor Louie…… Good thing you were there to separate them. How about a water bottle to spray him? How scary!!! Awww.. how sad the Rorschach is so grumpy and nasty. 🙁
I feel on edge once in awhile too. It comes out of nowhere and annoys me. Musy be hormones….. LOL

We’ve always celebrated International Women’s Day on the 8th of March, but the more days, the merrier!

Yes, it is very hot and humid here, and I had to run several errands on my bicycle (including depositing cheques from clients). Tomorrow Livia goes back to the veterinary clinic to have her sutures removed. They left a message to remind me of the appointment; cats and dogs seem to get more consideration than human patients.

I’m eating little wild Québec blueberries with goat yoghurt. Mmmm. Livia seems uninterested in dairy, though she could eat goat milk products.

Those of us with children, grandchildren or other small relatives are dealing with back to school, at least in the Northern Hemisphere. It can be very expensive… I am looking for a few autumnal items, not because I’m a dedicated follower of fashion but because the bloody moths ate two of my favourite pullovers, and it gets very cold here, as you all know…

    Hard to envisage that today…

*squeals with delight* ….. runs to unpack the tutu ….. don’t tell GD, she’ll blame me if the storm goes on her side of the coast instead of mine …. I just got back from the store, stocked up on everything, including cat food & litter …. Abby was very curious as to why I was putting so many cans on ‘her’ shelf in the pantry …. she knows where I keep her food ….

Son is sending some amazing pictures from atop the Seattle needle ….. that boy is well traveled!

    Oooh a cat fight JJ!
lagatta, sadly our pets do get more attention than we do from professionals. Guess it has to do with the fact that we’re paying. I do know that when I go private system for certain things I am treated like royalty. And at times it is very much worth it. *Sigh*
At risk of sounding boastful, I’m done with cotton summer sweaters and back to knitting sweaters for our wonderful winters. Have not had probs with moths. And although fortunately I’m not worried about clothing costs, knitting ultimately costs way less. Plus I get style/colour that I want.
“B” did not show up to spin class, not since that big “to-do” of 2 wks ago. Hopefully she found somewhere else where her “issues” are more appreciated.
Washer is slated to arrive early am tomorrow, N. will be here and I must get to bed early tonight. Basically most of my furniture is in middle of living/dining room and Dorry is looking for place to place himself LOL. Will have to get my usual sleep l8r in day. Heck it’s one day, I just like things to be the way that I like them and have yet to fully accept that it doesn’t always go like that. Still way better than messing up my week and less traffic means that they should be on time. I have 2 loads of laundry as “test” cases. ‘Cause the thing better work.
Did see a very pretty kitty on way to gym. Grey/white with grey knee patches, very interesting colouring. She was so balletic that I’ve named her Giselle. Hope that she has a home, no way of really knowing.
Catch you all on Caturday nite!

    Yay it’s Saturday.
ECB, glad all is going well with the recent changes with the schooling and congratulations to Mr ECB on his new title. A very worthy one at that.
AV, put your feet up and relax while you can.
KJ, checklist – path for delivery is cleared, N will be with you, Dorry will be shut safely in room before delivery time. Check. Now relax as all will be fine. Ugh, 36C and high humidity. Without AC you would be left without energy.
Whoa JJ, Rorschach sounds like he hasn’t had a spa day yet and is operating on testosterone. Naughty boy. Louie is just defending his territory from the interloper. Great mental image you paint of the vicious broom attack.
BB, Hi, I am feeling much better thanks.
JK, pretty zinnias and a bee loaded up with pollen.
Lagatta those darned moths. No matter how careful you are those pesky moths will find your garments. I have sticky moth traps to catch any of the dreaded pantry moths, I wonder if there is something similar you can use where you store your woollens etc. I have had several merino tops nibbled in multiple places by moths that of course are never seen, only their handy work. Giselle sounds delightful, hope you see her again.
LOL at AV’s obvious pleasure at the idea of unpacking the ‘tutu’. Would we mention it to GD if things go awry? – Darn right we would, but go ahead and dance anyway.
We had a nasty weather pattern land on us overnight with high winds and I am sure the barometric pressure dropped suddenly because I felt my ears suddenly block up. Today I am dealing with ears blocked at different levels and one humming like crazy. Rather disconcerting when trying to move too fast. We have the winds still but with rain and then sunshine thrown in for good measure.
Had to chuckle as Airy has been in charge of her house mates cats for a week while house mate(hm) works away. Hm came home for the weekend and the cats abandoned her for Airy last night. Oops, embarrassing. She has also been making them pom poms to play with and they have been loving them.

My internet has been wonky, have called and been trying to resolve the problem but they have to refer it to a level 2 tech, whatever that means….meanwhile the internet goes in and out randomly *sigh*
Hate to hear about the cat fight JJ, but I’m not beyond using a broom either, not to harm but to deter fights or break them up. Haven’t had to do that in years, as I only have Maxwell outside now. But he is so laid back that I have had to protect him from savage Toms in the past.
