KJ, nice yo have some new shoes getting to know each other. Mine are having their staff meetings interrupted by Leela, who is sleeping in my closet again. Not as worried this time because she is coming out and sleeping on the bed and even in the other room too and not living there like she was several months ago.

I have been reading about Indigo Buntings and Hummingbirds. VERY interesting info! Just discovered a new channel (to me) called Nat Geo WILD and have been really enjoying it! Watching a show about fresh water eels now in NEW ZEALAND!! How cool!
KZ… How old are your two granddaughters? The ones you pick up from the bus?

Searching for when Indigos migrate… not much luck. 🙁 They DO migrate at night using the stars. Read a story about how baby Indigos study the stars while in the nest. How adorable…… It just seems to me my precious Indigo left somewhat early this year. Remember him staying until Sept. or even later one year, a few years ago. Gee, hope this isn’t a sign of another bad winter, maybe early? I sure do miss him and his sweet song. Just hope he’s ok and nothing happened to him. SO many cats here now and since Indigos nest at the bottom of tall weeds…. not a favorable combination….. :/
Oh! SO excited to see FOUR bats flying around outside. I have been worried about my bats due to the WNS disease… Was worried to only see 2 this summer, but now to see 4! That makes me happy! I LOVE my wildlife here in my yard.

Joan, that is GTEAT news that you have a bat too!!! WHOO HOO! You need an Indigo Bunting too as they also eat skeeters….. Yep, way too many of them!

Mosquitos aren’t too bad this year, I have a mosquito plant outside my backdoor so hoping that it is actually working.

Good news on the family front, my Dad is able to go home this morning…in about 5-6 hours he will be released from the rehab facility and finally going home 3 weeks after his emergency surgery….yay!

I just love the whimsies made by Mary, she does have an ‘eye’ for putting things together. I have been making one here and there for my garden and as a gift or two, need to get back to it again.
