    Hi all,
Have been MIA for a bit – hope efurryone is well.

    Paws up to PG!
Could you open Café on Monday? It’s your Memorial Day and for me Jewish Holiday as Shavuot, starts as segue from end of Sabbath and continues until Monday night, so will be back to open Café as Tuesday. Tks!

Good morning! I’ve made it here a couple of times this week but got interrupted before I could post. I enjoy “seeing” you all and hearing about your gardening and shopping adventures even if I don’t get a chance to “say” anything. Been doing bike practice with the boys and finishing up school this week. Hubby has been getting our old bikes spruced up too. I’ve yet to get on mine. It’s been years but like they say, “it’s just like riding a bike.”

Good morning! At one point there must have been enough musical instruments in my mom’s attic to start a band. Not mom’s violin or dad’s saxophone, but a couple of trombones, trumpets, a flute, saxophones, clarinets… Have donated them so they can be tuned/fixed and be played again!
MS, I hear ya about the feminization of ‘guy stuff’ – it does seem ridiculous to pay more for something that’s pink. I got to thinking about an episode of ‘Gilmore Girls’ where Rory goes on a construction job site with a hammer that her mom decorated. 🙂
Hi ECB – nice that your bike’s all ready to ride, now you have to see if it’s just like riding a bike!
Chilly, breezy but sunny day here in Jersey. Looking to be a nice holiday weekend!

Morning everyone! ECB, I hear ya about reading and lurking, but then not getting to post, happens to me more than not! Especially at night, and I get too sleepy to put words together.
Joan, looking forward to a long weekend and getting to sleep in, even if it’s only an hour or so. I am having a cookout tonight for a birthday dinner. It will be fun and very relaxed and laid back. I’m providing the place and the burgers, the patio should be nice tonight!

Hi, JK! Yep, tool borrowing happens here too.

Getting off my feet for a few minutes. This morning I chopped and chopped until I’d filled a gallon bowl with cucumber mango salsa. Taking it to the lake tomorrow. We’re just going for the day. There will be more folks than usual including some family we don’t get to see often. Then after lunch I chopped for our dinner tonight…chicken chili. The hard part is done…whew!

JK-great pics of the ferals, what a nice couple! Well everyone’s gone before they all come back again….you mean I actually have 5 minutes to myself? And where do I spend it?! I came upstairs to change my clothes…what a wonderful day it’s turned out to be. Sunny, cool/warm depending on if you are in the sun or the shade. Have a blackberry cobbler in the oven..starting to smell pretty good too. Later everyone, have a wonderful day!

Yay, it’s Friday! JK, pretty view from that place. I know what you mean about watching out with Crockey on a leash, have similar concern with Comet. I never know when one of the locals is going to wander through the yard, not to mention the occasional bear.
ECB, that’s a lot of chopping! Went uptown on a quick errand, which is a dumb thing to say since everything is 10 miles from here so there’s no such thing as going uptown on a quick errand! Been craving watermelon, and picked up some corn too. They’re selling it pre-packaged in 3 or 5 packs. Why the odd number? I know, it’s so they can charge more and sell an extra ear of corn that’s really not needed. Can’t wait till local stuff is harvested!
KZ, that blackberry cobbler sounds awesome. The wind must be coming out from your west, as I think I can smell it!

    In Flander’s Field

    by John McCrae

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow,
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky,
The larks, still bravely singing, fly,
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
    We are the dead.
    Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved and now we lie,
    In Flanders Fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw,
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us, who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow,
    In Flanders Fields.

Good afternoon almost evening. I have finally made it to the Cafe on this wet Saturday. HRH doesn’t know if she should stay inside by the fire or go outside and hunt. Decisions which she has put off by trying both options numerous times. Just call me the doorperson. 🙂

I haven’t had a chance to read the Cafe posts today, I hope to find the time and comment later.
