A fritter is a fried cake or dough with fruit or meat inside. Purrhaps eat at least one or more. Or choose from a selection of other fried and fast foods!

    Crossover pic –

A favourite fritter here in NZ is whitebait fritters. They are made with tiny fish.
    The fritters
    The fish.
There is a limited season in which the whitebait can be caught/netted and limited amounts too. For that reason they can sell for unbelievable prices of $50 and more for 17 ounces.

Miss Snuggy passed over the Rainbow Bridge peacefully and is now romping in the Meadow with all our furkits that greeted her when she arrived. Mum is happy now, her beloved Snuggy is no longer in pain. The vet have her a sedative to help make her ‘cruisy’ as he put it and then the next med to help her gently slip over. They provided and lovely cardboard casket printed with a dove and ‘In Loving Memory’ and we wrote her name. Mr MS dug a hole in the back yard and Snuggy was laid to rest with a rose on her casket. This is the fourth time Mr MS has done this job for Mum over the years.
Many thanks for your lovely wishes.

Oh I forgot to tell you, I was out shopping at a gourmet food shop yesterday and as I wandered down an aisle I saw a lady standing at the end who looked familiar. I looked again and there was a life size cardboard cutout of Hillary Clinton ! ! Go figure ! 😮 Certainly had me giggling among the pickled figs and smokey balsamic jellies.

    😀 🙂 😀

Good morning – the best fritters I ever had were lobster fritters.
I’m very sorry for the passing of Snuggy, MS, and of course also thankful she is no longer in pain. Sending lots of love to your mum, I’m sure she will miss her very much.
It is a sunny and breezy day here in Jersey. My venture to Walmart was successful, though after spending plenty of $$, I bought not one Christmas present. Half was cat food – bought a 35 lb. bag of crunchies and four 12-pack cases of cat food. I keeping with yesterday’s topic, I bought a bag of Gala apples, and they are delish!

So sorry about Snuggles MS, but thankful her life ended peacefully and gently in the arms of those who loved her. It’s all any of us can ask for. I can’t even begin to count the number of sweet babies buried on this farm~~from beloved cats, kittens and doggies. 😥
You made me laugh visualizing you giggling amongst the grocery items thinking Hillary was in the house!!

Sounds like a great trip to Walmart JJ–and my favorite apples of all are Galas and Honey Crisps!!

Hi Guys. It’s been a crazy week catching up after the Thankksgiving holiday. But we had a nice visit with hubby’s folks and are glad to be home.

We put our tree up yesterday and the kitties are thrilled to have their holiday resting place under the tree. I’ll never get all that cat hair off the tree skirt…lol.

MS, blessings to your mom on the passing of Snuggy.

Joan, did you get to watch the Gilmore Girls revival yet? I watched the whole thing the weekend it came out. Things are always slow paced at the inlaws so I had time to chill out with my iPad and earphones and Netflix. I loved it!

Apple Fritters (Gluten-free, sugar free, and vegan)

If the word vegan scares you – visit you local bakery/supermarket for other version!

OK, time to get back to part 2’s fun – wishing all a fab weekend.
Oh, thanks for treats too Tux: Yum!

Good Morning all, happy Friday for you. It’s Saturday here(said in sing song teasing voice.) 😛

Many thanks for all you lovely thoughts and wishes for my Mum. I talked to her this morning and she is doing ok. She did miss the extra warmth of Snuggy in the night though. I will take around a huge bunch of Sweet Pea flowers from my plants later, her house will smell divine as she has been given heaps of roses too.
JJ, that’s the sort of shopping I do too, go for one thing but end up not getting any presents. Not a good idea at this time of year. Your JJ crew will love you forever though as every day with you looking out for them is like Christmas. Mmmmm I love Gala. Did you know they were the result of a Golden Delicious and Kidd’s Orange Red cross back in the 1930’s in New Zealand.
KZ, Mr MS took on the sexton role for cats way back when we were first dating. Proved back then he was someone to be relied on to help out on sad occasions with furpets be they cats or dogs. Still chuckling about Hillary amongst the goodies.
Good to see you again EC, LOL cat fur on the tree skirt is de rigueur in many households, don’t worry about it, it’s the height of fashion.
JK, that pic is so tempting and it’s only mid morning here. Mmmmmm I love figs and those black cat pops look great.
It’s a beautiful sunny day and already at barely 10.30am it is quite hot. I must make sure there are enough clean dishes of water for the birds outside and of course HRH uses them too.

I knew that Gala were from New Zealand, but didn’t know their heritage.

I’m so sorry about Snuggy and my condolences to your mum. That just set me off, crying about Renzo (much as I love little Livia). I miss him terribly.

As for fritters, it seems to me that there are also vegetable ones, and not just potatoes…

Thank you Lagatta. Hugs for you.
I think each cat we love opens a separate pathway to our hearts that closes over when they are gone but we still feel the pain and love in that pathway. We can have many pathways over the years that can be so bittersweet but always there is the love we had for and from those furkits.

That makes a lot of sense, MS. Even our friends’ cats, such as our Renzo, who held the title of senior TDK kitty for a while, touches my heart. Though it hurts, I do like to remember family cats from way back, friends’ animals through the years, and TDKr’s cats in the more recent past.
I have to get working on the TDK mailing list, but perhaps I can also find the time to write a Meadow story – it seems to be the right time!

AV, sending Healing Energy for your Mum- oh dear cranky and not taking her meds. Not ideal. They are feisty when they reach those ages aren’t they.
JJ you are correct, even our friends cats touch our hearts. I recall family cats from as far back as I can remember with a smile and knowing we will all meet again as well as our dogs from the farm and friends pets I have known over the years.
    Oh lovely, a Meadow story.
