Crossover Fact – Of all the U.S. Presidents since 1787, no fewer than 52 per cent were middle children. This is not only a far higher proportion than the numbers in the overall population, but also confounds a conventional belief that eldest sons are always the strongest personalities and therefore natural-born leaders.
The list of presidential middles includes political giants such as Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy.

Well, I’m a Middle – a brother to each side – so I shall look forward to a fun and happy-filled day! For starters, there’s a litter tray or two that need clearing out – washing up to start soon – oh, and I’m expecting an exciting parcel today, as it happens.

It’s cat food . . . of course! But I shall smile nicely at the van driver as he hands it over. Just in case he’s a Middler too.

Morning all! TGIF!! Rain chance has ‘dropped’ to 50% here, which IMHO is a definite maybe ….. we’ll see ….
Son made it safely to Israel and is sending some amazing pics …. don’t know how many of you use the Viber app, but we’ve been able to track our jet setting millenials all over the world ….. for FREE! ….. I love it (plus the stickers are fun!) …. anyhoo, looking forward to another busy day, then should be a fairly relaxing weekend, with handy Scotty installing our new A/C system (been waiting a while now, hopefully worth it!)

Time for me to hop in the shower and get ready for a final busy day of inputting before enjoying the sabbath … have a great day all!

Good morning! That is a really cool crossover fact, MS. And KJ, that “bwainz” pic has always been one of my favorite cat pics…lol.

In laws and hubby are sleeping in, but the early risers (in the genes for my side for the family) have already breakfasted on fritatta, bacon, fruit and biscotti. Today is older son’s 13th birthday! A teenager…might have to check out that app to track the kids soon, AV! :).

I got a couple of vintage stovetop percolators (corning ware) for my birthday and I’m thrilled with them. I’ve only been using them for a few days, just tested out the larger size this morning…and they both make an excellent, strong cup of coffee. (It did take some experimenting with grind size to get it right though.) They have an adorable retro look that I’m sure you’ll all recognize. I’m going to go get a photo to share….

Happy Birthday to your Son, ECB!
They have a way of tracking one’s kids??? Wow!
I recall that blue/white Corningware coffee pot from back in the day! πŸ˜‰
MS, lovin’ those “Hitchcockian” birds! And the poor kitty hidden by his elder/younger sibs.
T-storm and pouring here, ideally it will let up when I go out, but we need this in hopes that it will cool off temps a bit.

EC, love the perks! ….. the one I bought is electric, and like you, I had to ‘experiment’ with the right grind/ratio of grounds to make our preferred strength …. but the taste can’t be beat! ….. I also love that they now sell filters for perks which really cuts down on getting grounds in the finished coffee …..

Yeah, Viber is cool – it’s wifi based …. Son found it when he did his first international tour (Europe) ….. then used it when he toured all over Asia …. it allows him free text or calls as long as he’s in a wifi spot – which now a days, is most all cafes hotels, and in Israel – even his bus! …. so he checks in every 24 hours (so a mom doesn’t worry) …. we’re so used to it now, our entire family vibers all day long, cause it’s easier than text messaging and has these hilarious stickers that we send with very apropos sayings ….

Did anyone see the Olympics last night? ….. loved watching Michael Phelps swim and Simone win the gymnastics! ….. Have a great TGIF all!

Good morning all–heading out the door to a funeral–of all things, ugh. I’m the oldest of two, so no middle siblings for us.
Absolutely love the percolators ECB! I could use a cup right now, but that’s not to be for a while. Just read a thread from a grieving owner and I tell you it completely undid me. I’m going to a funeral and I’ve already been crying. πŸ˜₯
I’ll check back with everyone later! Have a wonderful Friday!

    Hi Efurryone,

I’m glad Son made it to Israel, AV, and you’re finally getting the new A/C. Woohoo!

Like JK, I’m the baby…and loving every minute of it. hehe

I’m feeling better. Last night, I put some Ora-gel my tongue, took some Acetaminophen and some herbal candy and I slept just fine. My lower jaw is sore and tongue hurts w/o Ora-gel but I’m ready for the weekend.

Good afternoon from Saturday, it’s a slightly warmer day with occasional rain and the sun is finally making am appearance.
HRH is asleep on our bed but now that the sun is coming out she will probably wake up.
I was the last child for many years until KapitiKats arrived. I have two older brothers. I have found that the youngest doesn’t seem to have to have the rules applied as much as the previous children or to rephrase that the last child is spoiled. πŸ˜› πŸ™„ πŸ™„
CWS, that is a fun filled day. You are being sarcastic aren’t you? πŸ˜† Ohhhhhhhh a parcel of cat food, the kits will be excited.
AV, yay on the chances of rain falling. Great you have heard from son, heard from our daughter too, from the Crocodile Hunters Australia Zoo. They were looking at the crocodiles. We have nothing like that here in NZ.
ECB, yummy sounding breakfast. Happy Birthday to older son.
Love your older coffee percolators, very retro.
KJ, ugh thunderstorms with the heat you have been getting, hopefully it does drop the temps.
Waving to JK, love the Scarlet pic and the cat requiring help with the wine bottle.
PG, glad that your mouth is beginning to feel better.
Took Mum to the big box type hardware store as we both needed more kindling for our fires. We agrees to look at the plant section but not buy any. Mum failed miserably on that and bought sweet pea, primula and snowpea seedlings.
Got home and made a large pot of Lemon Orzo Chicken soup and have just realised my lunch was eaten at afternoon tea time. Meh! I will be a rebel today.

Don’t drive your parents, ECB and Mr. ECB, too cra-cra now that you are a teen:
