Aww, nurse tiny cat is pretty adorable! I have a secret…in the past year or so I finally figured out what I think would be the perfect career for my gifts and strengths….nursing. I have a dream of going back to school for it, but I’d be fifty-ish before it would be a good time, so who knows. Hubby thinks it would be a great fit too (he works with nurses)…he’s the only other person I’ve told.

Nurse Tiny Cat looks like baby Dorry – but I just can’t envision him ever being concerned – esp about me – ‘cept when he feels that his noms are not arriving on schedule LOL.
ECB, A little while back I ran into a woman I know from knitting group and she owned a shop for several years. She has several Eng Lit degrees, maybe even a PhD, has taught at college level. Point is she’s gone back to school to get her nursing degree. She’s for sure into her 50’s but it’s what she wants to do now. So if you eventually want to go for it, well, why not!

Good morning – my Jiggs was a great nurse. He had the therapeutic touch!
    Go for it, ECB!
I have a wee houseguest today, something you’d least expect. Last night I was outside with the cats hanging around me and I kept hearing a strange squeaking sound. Turned around to go inside and almost stepped on a small bunny. I brought the trembling thing inside and put him in a box. Actually I’ve been referring to the bunny as a she, since the box I put her in had the name Christina as the name of the shoe. ๐Ÿ™‚ There are no obvious injuries. I put her in the canvas cat carrier (she might have been able to slip through the bars on a traditional carrier) and put the carrier in the shower stall for the night just in case she tried to chew through the mesh. Looks like she ate the lettuce from last night and ate some more this morning. It looks like I can release her into some dense woods as long as I’m not followed! I have info for an animal hospital that takes wildlife, but since she doesn’t seem injured, releasing her to her home turf makes sense. However, it’s raining so I’ll keep her inside, warm and dry today.

Oh I love baby bunnies, do you suppose the cats brought her to you as a ‘gift’ JJ?!!
ECB, you should most definitely pursue nursing as a career…I know many women who have done this later on…it makes for better and wiser nurses and healers!
Taking it easy today. Oldest dau came to help me with Avery this morning. I do a little bit then rest–I really think this is pneumonia (I have had it before and remember the feelings). It’s strange though you can have it and not know it, it’s very sneaky like that.
A beautiful day here finally, I think it will hit 70*, so looking forward to taking Avie out into the sun this afternoon. Later!

I think so, KZ. Brings back memories of rescuing bunnies from the jaws of childhood cats, though this one has so far seen better results! I actually have a vivid memory of a blood stained white shirt that I was wearing after one such rescue. Other than a wet spot presumably by cat saliva, I don’t see any wounds. Poor thing is still quite frightened though.
Oh I hope it’s not pneumonia. Glad dau is with you to help out, let her help you as well!

Take it easy KZ and allow yourself time to get back to your usual energetic self.
Squeee!!!!!! JJ, must be a tame bunny to allow you to pick her up. Is she the atypical while floofy cottontail? Will she munch on carrots? How obvious is it that I have little contact with four-footed wildlife here in the big city, ‘cept for ubiquitous squirrels.

My Mum had two unexpected hospital visits earlier this year, KZ – the first time they did loads of tests but couldn’t work out what the problem was, so they sent her home. A few days later she was back in – and they kept her in for several days, because she had pneumonia!

Once she got out the second time she’d recovered enough to talk about going back to work the same week. Which we persuaded her not to do full time. After all, two or three days is plenty when you’re 92 . . .

Hope you’re soon back to yourself again – but you are allowed a bit of rest and recovery time first! In the meantime, take things as easy as you can, and accept any help that’s on offer.

    All the best.

Paw up waving – happy TGIF to All!
Aww, thanks Joan for saving wee bunny!
Yup – the food chain – sigh, remember Gabby catching wee ones & taking them to her litter/not sure where.
(She would eat crunchies in yard but kits were still too small to visit with her.)
Yup, it’s to warm up to 70 around here too – finally!
Feel better wishes KZ – maybe DR visit in order for you!
My 2.5 cents share for purry theme:
    Maine Coon as nurse
My Luck approves of this fluffer Maine Coon nurse! ๐Ÿ˜‰
BTW – Luck has settled in nicely as first fur mate of house now – Crock taught him well, except for li’l goofy flamer nuances/LOL
Scoot is still purrfect as Diva as house!
OK, need cuppa java – back to part 1’s fun!

Wow, CWS…amazing that your mom is still working. Good for her!

Joan…hope little Christina has a long happy life after you release her.

    Get lots of rest, KZ!

There’s a tiny tuft of fur back there, I guess she hasn’t grown a real cottontail yet, or maybe it’s tucked in from fright.
Goodness CWS, still working at 92? Your mom must be doing something she loves.
Love the nurse kitty pic, JK. Meant to tell you earlier in the week that on Sunday, the kits had a moment of silence for Crockey, and at that moment, Earthly kits met Meadow kits, and it was a spectacular moment. It was a moment for the kitties only, no hoomans allowed! Glad Lucky is settling in and making Crock proud, for he knows he’s being watched. And Scoot, well we know she has no problem with her diva status! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Bzzzzing for Dandelions
    bees need dandelions
    ๐Ÿ™‚

You guys are the best! It makes me feel so good to know I am in your thoughts…so humbling. I am feeling better, a little bit at a time. Of course I don’t know if it’s pneumonia because I didn’t get a chest x-ray. But it feels the same as when I had it before. It’s a general feeling of ‘unwellness’ along with an achy body, temperature, and of course the coughing. But I didn’t let this get ahead of me like I did before, but went to the doc for the meds. Avery is being so sweet, and it’s beautiful outside like it is in JK’s neighborhood, and we are going to go outside where I can soak up some vitamin D!

    Such a pretty picture, JK!
Bunny has had a quiet day and has eaten the lettuce, but apparently doesn’t care for carrots!

Glad you’re beginning to feel a bit better, KZ. But keep taking things a little easier than usual!

P.S. My Mum works in a charity shop – a medical charity – and has done for around thirty years. I always tell her she’s fitter than I am – and she probably is!

Thanks CWS! You are so lucky to still have your mom with you–she sounds fit and sharp–what more could any of us ask for at any age?! And this being Mother’s Day weekend in the states–so have an early Happy Mother’s Day with her for me!

Thanks, KZ! Yes, we’re very lucky. She’s not quite 21 any more, but she’s one of those people who’s always cheerful, and always ready to help where it’s needed. I’m sure that helps to keep her young.

    A little Dr Who humour

    Good morning all.
KZ, I hope you get better quickly, let others look after you for a while. Not easy at this time of year I know but it has to be that way. I hope you don’t have pneumonia though.
ECB, investigate what classes etc are available for nursing in your area and go for it. You can still have a good 15-20 year career in nursing.
JJ, OMG ! Thud. A wee bunny, they are so sweet at that age and just get sweeter. It might need to be looked after until it can fend for itself, have to admit I don’t know what age they can leave home. Any that we found we took in and raised for a while. Just make sure the furkits can’t bite bunny as I found out the hard way that rabbits tend to die from puncture wounds. Rascal the rabbit that one of our dogs brought to us lived with us for several months and even litter trained himself. He also ate a hole in the bedsheets while snuggling with us one morning. Those sheets were cut down as cot sheets for when our girls arrived and they still laugh now when we tell them the story.
JK, glad to hear that furkits are settling down well now. I always leave the dandelions in the lawn at the beginning of Spring as it is wonderful to see their bright faces.
CWS, our Mothers sound similar. My Mum works in her Church charity shop several days a month and has been doing so for some 30 odd years, she is going on 95 now. She also runs a non denominational coffee morning once a month for elderly ladies. Guess who the eldest is. Yes, Mum.
I have had a hard few weeks lately with minor health problems, one clears up and another descends. Hoping they are almost at an end and that I will soon no longer feel blurgh and have some energy to enjoy the last of the sunny Autumn weather.
