    Good Friday Morning Efurryone,

I like Mr. Snowy and walking backwards-too funny.

Duh? I started last night but its hard to work on your laptop when your lap is full of cats…and they weren’t moving! Today is nice again and we’re suppose to get to 69f/20c on Saturday. Tomorrow is my nieces’ 45th birthday shindig. Wee!

    Have a happy~

PG, some of your pics have run amuck – purrhaps a prob with Photobucket? I gave up on them a while back ad now use TinyPic.

Happy Birthday for tomorrow to niece.

Dark, gloomy and very windy here. Makes it feel colder but whatever.

Didn’t sleep all that well last night. But made “big” decision to spring for the Dr. Martens. Not all that comfortable ordering on eBay, done it once before and it worked out. Anyway price is below what I’d pay elsewhere, even with exchange. Plus as mentioned in yest Café seller is in Israel and I love to support the country, ergo many prs of Naot shoes! These are the Docs. Shade is “dress blue” which should work very well with jean skirts, which I also seem to collect. 😉

Also supported Special Needs Dept. at gym/community centre. A woman has her own bakery and sells all kinds of kosher goods efurry Fri. with a percentage of sales going to Special Needs programs. Bought me a zucchini bread. Took a wee taste, delish! Also neat when a woman has her own start-up.

Plus did some pre-Passover scouting in supermarket, a month away and the kosher section shelves are stocked! Good to buy stuff somewhat in advance, while there is a wide selection. And to see if there’s anything new.

Gong to Knitting Circle in pm. Wishing all a terrif Caturday!

Hi MS. I’m not surprised the costs are rising. When they lose crops, the prices of vegetables and fruit go way up. How’s HRH?

Sorry you didn’t sleep last night, KJ. You seem to collect jean skirts? It’s good you can accessorize and support good places. Peeps, with the drive to start their own business, work their butts off.

I didn’t finish my first post so there aren’t any pics. Yes, I’m having trouble with photobucket and it’s really pissing me off.

Enjoy Knitting Circle and some needed rest.

Miss Gaea came in after spending two hours basking in the sun. She’s a happy camper. LilBit is being whiny again. *sigh*

Folks east of the Mississippi river through Europe are getting slammed with terrible storms. Lots of warm fuzzies to all our friends – be safe and stay warm.

*AV gags quietly in the corner* …… I popped in yesterday’s Café to catch up ….. MS, you have a wicked sense of humor 😉 hehehe

I just ordered myself the cutest ‘cat phone purse’ , brown leather with a Siamese on the front …. I’ve gotten to where it’s all I use anymore, what do I need beside my phone, 1 credit card and my license?! …. can’t wait til it comes. Ordered from an animal rescue site, so proceeds go to a good cause. We’re headed out to the Strawberry festival, have a great TGIF everyone!

I wondered what you’re reaction would be to that yummy sandwich. I would pass on both banana and peanut butter together. Enjoy the Strawberry festival.

Oh Lord, I think I heard you gagging in the corner AV…oh wait! Maybe that was Thumbalina after eating a piece of fern…. 😉

MS, OMG! $10 for a head of cauliflower!! That’s awful! I love the stuff and will eat it any way shape or form, but love it best cut up raw with a sprinkle of salt.

I haven’t had Avery all week..she’s still fighting off a tummy bug. She doesn’t barf often, maybe every 8 hours or so, but dau took her to the doctor to rule out anything else that might be going on. Doc ordered some anti nausea meds too, so hopefully the stupid bug runs it’s course quickly.

Love the boots KJ! I just ordered some sandals (yes, it’s early) but was afraid if I didn’t, they wouldn’t be available. Yea, that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it! 😆

Kittyzee, I don’t blame you at all about the sandals – if I found ones that are both cute and good for long walks, I’ll spring on them. I love jeans skirts too, but they are hard to find nowadays and many tend to be very mini, which I don’t wear any more. With cycling, nothing wrong with my legs, but at past 50,(old stuff?)that feels somehow wrong.

I had quite a few jeans skirts too (psst, they don’t wear out, and are easy to redye) but put on some menopausal weight so gave them away. Don’t really regret that, although I’ve lost at least most of that in the last few years.

I’ve seen at least a few decent skirts, knee-length or a bit more, at a chain here called Simons, that has good quality clothes but most at reasonable (but not ultra-cheap) prices.

Hi everyone – checking in from the middle of Riley the nor’easter. Worked till around 1 and had an interesting drive home, as trees and branches are down all around and there were white out conditions in spots. The road leading to my lake community wasn’t plowed, but I’ve got a truck and chugged along slowly. A branch broke on one of our trees and is resting on the phone & cable line from the house to the pole. It’s too dangerous to go out with a ladder so we’ll have to hope the weight of the snow-saturated branch doesn’t win out.

Took Comet to the v-e-t on Wednesday. He has the sneezies again so he got a shot of Convenia. He is feeling better already!

I’d better wrap up this post before the power blinks again and I lose internet again!

The sun is shining and there is no rain on the radar so far. The day is warm and muggy and there is a stiff NE wind blowing. I’ll take it.
PG, you had me LOL at the cat with the old fashioned typewriter. Your temps today sound like ours, we are indeed changing seasons and coming together on our temps. Have a great time at your nieces shindig and Happy Birthday to her from the Southern Pacific. Good to hear that Miss Gaea is happy with the weather and is a happy camper. LiLBit why are you whiny?
KJ, great looking boots, I love the colour and yes they will go well with denim skirts. I love my denim skirt, it’s sits nicely on me and has structure to it that I find other skirts don’t have.
AV, I see you found the yummy (not) sandwich.
😉 😉 The cat phone purse sounds gorgeous. Enjoy the strawberry festival and did you know that strawberries whiten teeth.
KZ, LOL at the gagging comment, awwww Thumbelina fern isn’t meant to be eaten. Yu $10 a head of cauli, $5 a head of broccoli and lettuce $5 and up, even zucchini rose in price. Th excessive rains we’ve had have really had a nasty effect on the prices of vegetables and some fruit. I am ow wanting to get my Winter garden all sorted and seedlings in the ground but the weather peeps have said our Autumn will be wet and humid and that means the veges would mature too soon for Winter use. It’s a real lottery about when to plant. I love raw cauli, and sadly we ate the last brocolli head for dinner last night.
I thought your posts this week were light on Avery content, poor wee girl. I hope her tummy bug is sorted soon, she must be feeling quite miserable and Mum must be worried too.
JK, thanks for posting that link for How TDK came to be. Great memories and WWM’s story of her and Bobby having a massage had me laughing all over again. I think KM 1.0 aka Fraser was as elusive as Banksy. Hmmmm, I wonder . . . .
    😕 . . . Nah ! Couldn’t be . . .could he?
Lagatta I had a denim skirt that somehow shrank(yeah right) and I put it aside to donate to an Op Shop but now that there is less of me I might see if it fits me again.
Oooooooh JJ, Riley sounds like a nasty nor’easter. I am glad you got home unscathed. Fingers crossed that the fallen branch doesn’t take out the phone and cable line. Funny you should mention Comet and the v-e-t for his Convenia shot, I have been thinking it will be time to take HRH Shadz for hers soon. She isn’t sneezing or snotting yet but it comes on so quickly.
HRH is still very picky with her food and still thin, she has taken a liking for her cat biscuits again and noms on those while I am opening her can or spooning out some fresh meat. She has suddenly become very very insistent on having cheese whenever she hears the cheese block being unwrapped. We put small pieces on to her meat and in eating the cheese she also eats meat. She still prefers to eat on the door mat or out on the deck an refuses point blank to come inside at night. I am hoping the cooler nights will have her coming in when they arrive. we really do suspect she has some cat dementia as her actions don’t seem to have any reason to them. I will try anything to put a bit of met on her bones and I know one thing that should work but first we have to get a possum. Yup possum meat always fattened the farm dogs and hopefully it will fatten her up when we can get one.

I was thinking of “old stuff day”, happily working on my very old oak work desk, surrounded by other antique and oldtique furniture. Much of the office stuff is oak.

But we also have “old stuff” that may not be so old but is simply unworn or unused, and taking up valuable space. I’ve divested myself of a lot of it, but it is a never-ending quest.

Just discovered that there is such a thing as “National give something away day”, July 15th. Assume that is in the US, but no reason it couldn’t be adopted elsewhere. But as July 1st is Moving Day here in Québec, it would probably be better here to organize the day’s events in June, when people are likely to be downsizing. And obviously in the southern hemisphere, it would more probably be in their late spring or summer.
